What a beaut. And it's an award-winner too: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around on the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor summer pool and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team are on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

Any conversion must meet the DVLA's definition to be considered as such.

Tyckte om: We stopped in a motorhome pitch at the top of the site, the position, flat, gravelled with electric, water and hedging between the pitches and lpwas fabulous, sunsets to die for!! Friendly and very helpful staff, polite and courteous. Shower block immaculate, hot water, clean floors. There is a little shop carrying emergency essentials - a burger without bacon but phew!!, they have bacon!! Great site overall, with walks along the cliff edge and steps down to the beach.

Tyckte inte om: We sat down for evening with our kettle bbq. Fire pits not allowed which we knew and don't have. Spoilt by a busy body saying put it out as it was a bbq. Tried to explain bbq and we like to throw food on it during evening. Then she turned up with a warden whom she seemed to know well.. Warden was happy it was a bbq but we felt so bad closed it down. Ruined a perfect evening So we won't be going again.

Från föreståndaren: Thank you Beverley for leaving your review/your side of events. Our Peregrine 1 pitch has the most amazing outward views over Cardigan Bay. It is dissapointing to read you have left a 6/10 review for actions that were unavoidable. Our policy as you are fully aware is we do not have open fires or firepits, everyone can enjoy a beach fire as long as they tidy up afterwards, what we do not acccept is a barbecue which when logs are added becomes a fire. We have always been reasonably lenient towards some of our holiday makers who barbecue with coals or gas throughout the evening, it is the perfect spot to sit as a family relaxing with the sunsetting and the sound of the sea and seabirds. We do not tolerate smoke and sparks coming from fires causing a nuisance to other holiday makers in such a small area. Our warden couple on the touring field work extremely hard to juggle the needs of every holiday maker we have on the park and sometimes we are unable to please everyone with their individual differing needs.

Our park staff work tirelessly to keep all facilities as they should be and to help everyone to enjoy their stay with us. The play park is very well used during busy times when the children are on their holidays, not exclusively for children as the 'big kids' swing is quite popular. Off peak times are always best for some extra quiet times and you sometimes get the pool to yourselves !!

Tyckte om: What a fabulous site . Facing the sea with a short walk down to the rocky beach to search for crabs . Our stay was a lovely relaxing experience with a real welcoming feel . The site has a fantastic play area so my daughter made lots of friends and in turn we got to relax with her right next to the our camper . The shower block was the clean and well thought out . It even had a radio so you could have a sing song in the shower . So lovely we booked again whilst we were there

Tyckte inte om: The 2 mile road into site. But worth it once you’re there. It’s like finding a little gem at the end! Shame there wasn’t a bar.

Från föreståndaren: Thank you Mani for your lovely review and photographs, those sunsets are just amazing everytime. The little gem at the end of the 2 mile road is clean, relaxed and well looked after partly because we do not have a pub or club to spoil the atmosphere, it is so lovely to sit at your own or your friends pitch taking in the surroundings. With Aberystwyth being a nice 3 mile walk there are an abundant collection of pubs, restaurants, snack bars, coffee shops and nightspots we dont need to compete. Look forward to seeing you again soon, fill the coolbox up!!

When coming from the Midlands stay on the A44 all the way into Aberystwyth. Ignore the satnav trying to direct you through Devil's Bridge (narrow lanes). When travelling from Aberystwyth, follow A487 direction Towing. In a large vehicle, ignore the satnav until you drive through the village of Blaenplwyf then take the well-signposted lane to the park. Light vehicles can use the first turning.

Lokala sevärdheter

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
