For a scenic railway ride, the Goes-Borsele steam train is a splendid option; settle back into your banquette as the vintage carriage puffs its way through the Zeeland countryside. Or, if you prefer your sightseeing from the waters, then boat trips on Veerse Meer lake are the way to go; also here you’ll be able to get stuck into watersports activities such as canoeing and waterskiing. Cider sippers might like a trip to the orchard museum 10 kilometres away, and surveyors of the high seas will most certainly appreciate a wander around Vlissingen’s maritime museum, a short drive away. Elsewhere, city-based days can be had over in medieval Goes, and the lights and sights of Antwerp are a 55-minute drive away through the Westerscheldtunnel.
