The Old Stables Campsite

Gostou: Easy to get to. Owners were really friendly! Showers and toilets were clean and always smelt fresh! Showers were hot. There’s also an area where you are able to wash your dishes. We had a lovely night camping 🙂 Cannot comment on child friendliness or Wi-Fi as we don’t have children and my partner has unlimited data

Gostou: Friendly and welcoming site owners. Booking was easy. Great showers and toilets.

Não gostou: 20 second shower buttons which means you are constantly having to push to re start the showers. Supposedly an ‘ eco feature, which is fine, but 30-40 seconds would be so much better and surely wouldn’t damage its eco-ness!

Although we very much promote being eco friendly and are in favour of less water being used, we have no control over how long the shower runs once the button is pushed, as the modern non conclusive taps are non adjustable and set in the factory at the time of installation. We are glad however that this has not put you off staying with us and you will recommend us to your friends and visit again in the future. Jayne and Mike 😃

Gostou: Really friendly welcome and farewell. Spacious pitch on a very well managed site. Super affordable. The showers and toilets are purpose built, immaculate and the best I've seen on this sort of site. Hot water at the sheltered washup which is unusual in my experience. I am definitely tempted by the beautiful wooden camping pods and shepherds huts on site too.

Não gostou: My partner didn't like that the showers are closed 10pm - 6am, but he is fast asleep then 🙄 Honestly, there's no satisfying some people!

We are sorry that your partner did not like the showers closing at 10.00pm. One of the reasons for doing this, is so that they can be disinfected and left over night, ready for a thorough cleaning in the morning. Another reason being, is that the shut off time compliments quiet time on site and encourages our guests to settle for the night. We hope that you will visit us again in the future and maybe stay in one of our pods. Jayne and Mike 😄

Gostou: Nice flat grass pitches. Clean toilets & showers. Good price. Efficient reception. Mini market just down the road

Não gostou: Bit of a trek uphill from the coast path with no footpath & sometimes no verges. Exposed site on top of the hill.

I have to agree that it is a trek up from the beach 😁, which would be so much easier if there was a footpath. There is a way back that keeps you off the road, but you have to be prepared to Zig zag a windy lane which adds 10 minutes to your walking time. Despite this and being exposed to the elements at time, it’s great that you would still return and recommend us to your friends. Jayne and Mike

Gostou: This was our second stay at The Old Stables - last time was May 2022. We loved it so much we came back! The toilets/ showers seem to have been upgraded and we’re super! We have stayed at a few campsites this summer and these facilities were by far the cleanest. Staff were extremely helpful and approachable. We will be back next year!

Gostou: Brilliant place excellent hosts very helpful when needed wanted to stay after exit time of 10 and was no problem toilets and showers very clean would recommend 100%

Gostou: Jane and Mike were so helpful and we loved how friendly everyone was. Showers and toilets clean and modern. Loved the van providing breakfasts. Walked to the pub - about 10/15 mins on the short cut which is more like a restaurant. Good location for beaches and tourist attractions

Não gostou: Don’t know about Wi-Fi so can’t comment on that

We don’t provide wi fi , as the 4/5 G signal is good and Wi-Fi has not been a priority for us. We hope you will visit us again in the future.

Gostou: Really level ground which is important especially in a camper as it’s your whole set up. Facilities were immaculate and very thought through. Little touches like a breakfast van and pizza evenings. We’ve both agreed that we’d definitely do longer at this site in future visits!
