Banish any visions of a stressy holiday stuck in hot cars and slow traffic out of your head… At North Shore Holiday Centre, a family-friendly Lincolnshire site 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Skegness, you won’t have to travel far to stay busy once you arrive. North Shore is on the outskirts of Skegness, and there’s plenty of seaside resorty things to do within easy reach of the site: the sandy beach, pier and town centre are all within walking distance, and you’ll have to drive for less than 15 minutes to get to the museum, nature reserve, aquarium or theme park. There’s tons to keep you busy on site too: play a round of miniature golf, perfect your end-game at the nine-hole pitch and putt, have a go at bowls or boules, try out the arcade games and go game-set-match on the tennis courts. Feeling peckish? There are oodles of eateries within 25 minutes’ walk of North Shore, or you can settle in for a meal on site – call in to the fully-licensed bar-restaurant, then stick around for the evening’s entertainment.

Gostou: Check in, we were late arriving but it was straight forward, everything was waiting for us at the pitch and put bar. Facilities were good (showers, elson, dishwasher area, ect. Bus stop just outside the entrance. Clean and tidy. Close to the town (10min walk). Fully serviced pitches at a fair price. Fully recommend.

Gostou: We loved the ease of getting through the site with the help of the staff and the map given to us. Information provided was more than sufficient.

Não gostou: Nothing comes to mind to be honest, we only stayed one night so didn't get round the whole site.

Gostou: Pleasant staff in reception. Good size flat pitch. Handy shop on site....

Não gostou: Can't comment on the clubhouse/ restaurant as I didn't visit it. Looked like quite a decent play area behind the clubhouse but unfortunately my grandson didn't play there as it was pouring with rain . Ladies toilets had a really weird smell and some toilet seats looked like they were hanging off. Good hot shower but nowhere to keep anything dry apart from hooks on back of the door. Two other play areas were pretty naff and the crazy golf area was shocking - dirty, tired, scruffy, off putting. Although I was given a site mat/ plan, the pitch was hard to find as the numbers are on the electric hook up bit and are very small.

Gostou: Very simple to set up electric hookup (and if we had the right kit we could have had drinking water fed directly to our aquaroll, but this was our first trip in our first caravan) Hard standing pitch was a great size and water collection point and gray water drain very close. Chemical toilet emptying area was easy to use.

Gostou: the site is well looked after grass cut ect,and the reception staff great.

Não gostou: the mens urinal tray awfull and the flooring in that area needs replacing.

Gostou: Friendly welcome on arrival. The fully serviced pitch was clean and tidy. Toilets and showers were clean. The bus stop is just outside the park and there are regular buses into Skegness. We ate at the Pitch and Putt pub on site and the food was really good. All staff were friendly and helpful and overall we enjoyed our stay

Não gostou: Although there are more than enough toilets and showers, the shower cubicles are too small and would benefit from a shelf and an area where you can keep your clothes dry. Also the showers only run for about 10 seconds

Any stay at North Shore Holiday Centre should start with a thorough exploration of Skegness as there are loads of places within five minutes’ drive you’re going to want to add to the list. Kids will want to dive into the aquarium, the fairground and the brightly lit amusements of the pleasure pier, while grownups might have more appreciation for the Naturelands seal sanctuary or The Village, Church Farm open-air museum. Want something for everyone? The entire family should be entertained with trips to Fantasy Island theme park (in nearby Ingoldmells), the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway and the stock car and bangers racing at Skegness Raceway, all within 10 minutes of the site. When you want to take your adventuring beyond the bounds of the seaside town, you can find peace 15 minutes away from the thrill rides and squealing tyres with visits to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or the flat Lincolnshire Wolds for cycling and walking trails, or by making a pitstop at the spectacular Gunby Hall and Gardens for a taste of splendour. For a quirkier outing, make your way a little further afield for a night at the Kinema in the Woods, believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection for screenings.
