The Wishing Well Inn

Ik was blij met: The Wishing Well Inn was a very welcoming cosy pub and restaurant. The staff and local customers were very friendly. Due to the heavy rain it was flooded along the road outside and the pitches were very water logged. Fortunately, there was a hard standing just behind the car park and we are able to pitch there. Overall, a very comfortable stay.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Where do you want me to start. The grass was 8 inches long. When we tried to use the power there was none. Tried 4 different outlets and none of them worked. By the time I tried to hook up the electricity the pub was closed and there was nobody to help. We paid good money to park in a damn paddock.

Ik was blij met: Fab spot, lots of space in the grass field and superb location! We didn't manage to visit the pub but will next time we visit.

Ik was niet zo blij met: No fresh water on site, only at the pub and needed a top up, so had to use watering cans. Also grass isn't cut regularly, so quite long. Allowing midges and flies to nestle in, bitten quite badly. Also the £30 per night we felt was quite expensive considering the above problems. No grey waste disposal, also no rubbish bins on site, except at the pub. Also don't use the LHS electric hookups, as they keep tripping out.

Ik was blij met: Pub was lovely. Hosts were lovely. Food was lovely. Nice and level ground. Easy to access. Quiet. Plenty of space.

Ik was niet zo blij met: Loo was a bit scruffy, no one had emptied the hand towl bin for a while. No water. No showers etc. Bit pricey for just a pitch, but then every business is struggling financially at the moment aren't they. I'd rather pay extra to see a business keep open.

Ik was blij met: Great pub with very polite and friendly staff and great service. We had a lovely meal and although not cheap, it was excellent, so value for the price paid. It doesn't have a large menu to choose from as they tend to use what is in season, so changes all the time and there are always specials on the menu. The beer is good and averagely priced . Very quiet.

Ik was niet zo blij met: The campsite is very very basic, and overpriced for what it is. £20.00/£30.00 with electric. Grass hadn't been cut for about a month or so. Water tap and black waste is at the pub, so a bit of a trek from the field, also you have to go through the pub garden to get there. We knew there weren't any showers and the toilet is only available when the pub is open. With a bit of investment this could be an excellent spot.
