A aimé : Quiet site with good facilities. The few other campers were friendly. Fortunately good weather for our stay but there are games and table tennis indoors if needed. Conveniently close to the main road but quiet enough for a good nights sleep.

N'a pas aimé: I was a bit concerned when I first arrived, no signage until you have turned off the road into the entrance, the site was virtually empty, no sign of any staff or access to the facilities. Once the site owner turned up I was put at ease, the facilities were unlocked and I realised that he was both enthusiastic and that I had everything here that I needed.

N'a pas aimé: There was only 1 toilet and if you use more than 1 shower at at time the water pressure wasn't good

A aimé : Close to Nature This camp site is wonderful for the naturalist camper and I cannot believe that there were no other campers on this quiet and rural site for the sunny week I was there. A few minutes walk from the Downs, it gave me chance to find 19 species of butterfly, turtle dove, nightjar and various owls, a hobby and other predatory birds. Grey partridge visited camp every morning and a barn owl quartered it at night. As the hedges are purposefully left to re-wild and there are plenty of wild flowers in the margins and central unmowed area, moth diversity was incredible with dragonflies staking out territories along the margins. Each evening, I could watch the sun go down over the Downs from the top end of the site with nothing but trees at the bottom of the field to mar the view. Being so keen on wildlife, this site is perfect and the camp owner very interested in any wildlife finds in the area and on the field. Facilities The facilities are everything you need including electricity, a fridge, showers, toilets, sinks etc... Water at various stations on the site and cooking areas provided me with more than I expected or needed. No light on the field is an advantage to me as I trapped moths using a light trap several times. In general The site is quiet and large, very much a wildlife haven and provided me with more than I was expecting. I really did enjoy my stay there and the owner is a wonderful, witty and engaging man to talk to with interesting knowledge of farming, local information, history and wildlife.

A aimé : The views are beautiful, has a fridge for you to use, 1 indoor toilet and shower. We saw bags at night which was amazing

N'a pas aimé: No one was there when we arrived so didn’t know what to do - drove up and set up tent abs next morning left. Meant almost anyone could leave or enter without things being checked.
