  • Family site 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Ettelbruck
  • Half an hour's drive from walking routes in Little Switzerland
  • Bistro open all day for meals, drinks and homemade cakes
It’s a well-known fact that calories consumed on holiday don’t count. And it's just as well at Camping Ettelbruck, as this is a site that takes its food pretty seriously… Get your day off to a tiptop start by picking up the bread rolls you ordered the night before, and having a spot of breakfast in the bistro. Later in the day, call back in or a coffee and a slice of homemade cake; come evening, the bistro terrace beckons – there are cocktails for sipping, and you can pick your dinner from a wide-ranging menu that includes several options for veggie types. Feeling inspired to cook for yourself? Head over to the communal veg and herb garden and see what you can create with your haul. If at any point you feel active, various sporting activities including a volleyball court, basketball court and badminton net are around the site, and there's a water playground and trampolines for kids. If you need a bit of downtime, or if the weather’s a tad less than desired, retreat indoors to watch films or borrow books in the recreation room. At peak times you can join with your neighbours in a programme of activities for all ages – archery, baking and playing the didgeridoo are among the eclectic mix of workshops offered to guests. Organised excursions are also on the cards if there’s enough demand, so hook up with fellow guests for a nice easy day out.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Great site for campervan / motor honing around. We stayed for two nights, just after rain and was advised to stay on the Motorhome pitches as the ground was soft! It was busy, but all accommodated. The facilities are very good and well managed and the onsite cafe / restaurant provides good food at a reasonable price. From site we enjoyed walks from both to the town and into the forest.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Lovely & spacious. Plenty of pitches to choose from & the pitches are a really good size. We got to choose our pitch rather than being allocated a pitch.Toilet ammenities are lovely & clean & plenty of facilities. The campsite is well maintained with great play facilities for all ages. Play grounds, volleyball pitch, boules & a dog walk at the bottom of the site. The on site restaurant is worth a visit for food or a drink. Quick service & the staff speak several languages & really friendly. Dogs are also welcome. There was a market in the town on Friday morning selling fruit & Veg, bread, plants which is.worth a visit. Brilliant to see red squirrels running through the trees. Look after them & respect them. Something we in the UK have lost a lot of & desperately trying to reintroduce.

Disliked: The hill to wall up from town. Wifi was only available around the toilet block & restaurant & not at the individual pitches.

Electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Good location. Toilet block and showers were ok, could do with some modernising. Had a bus from the campsite which ran every 2 hours to the train station, so we went into the centre of Luxembourg with no issues. Good park for small children, friendly staff. Didn't use the restaurant so cannot comment on that :)

Disliked: No wifi but mobile signal was ok.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The site was spacious, green, tranquil with fine rural views and a short distance from the town of Ettelbruck. We liked that we were able to choose our own pitch. The facilities were excellent, clean and well situated. The campsite restaurant was great and we appreciated the morning delivery of croissants. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Although we were not travelling with children we were impressed with the very nice play/recreation areas for young and old. This is without doubt one of the best campsites we've stayed in.

Disliked: A map of the campsite would have been useful, but otherwise there was nothing to dislike.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Very clean site, really well laid out and easy to pitch. Lots of play things for the children. Showers were clean and hot with lots of pressure and plenty of space to shower with my toddler in tow. Loved waking up in the sunshine, sat outside for my morning cuppa seeing the horses in the field. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely return

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Nice host and nice washrooms that was very clean. The kids also loved the park. We didn’t visit the restaurant but it was always busy and looked nice. Not a bad location either.

Disliked: Loads of wasps which was very annoying When we arrived later on in the afternoon we had a problem trying to find a pitch it’s more first come first serve basically.

Local attractions

Getting around from Camping Ettelbruck is easy – it’s a 15-minute walk to the centre of town and the station, which has services connecting to the rest of the country. If you can’t face the walk, the city bus passes the site five times a day and will transport your bikes for free. A good way to get around the area is by bike – you can hire them on site and you’ll be given an information pack with details of some good local routes. One recommendation is to head south towards Colmar-Berg (six kilometres away) where you can visit the Château de Berg and then cool off at the Nordpool, a waterpark with paddling pools and waterslides. Plenty of other cycle routes start from the site or nearby. Site staff can also recommend walking trails starting from the site, or you can drive for half an hour to reach the Müllerthal region, known as Little Switzerland for its range of scenic trails.
