If you’ve come to the Mecklenburg Lake District for some chillout time and pretty lake views (as would seem sensible), you’ll likely be most happy with your lot at Campingplatz am Drewensee, five minutes’ drive from Ahrensberg. If, on the other hand, you’ve come to the area for active times in scenic surrounds (as would also seem sensible), you’ll also likely be most happy with your lot. Folks who fall into the former camp should probably focus their attentions on the site’s sandy beach, which fronts the northern shore of the Drewensee and has a shop/snack bar to keep you fed as you spend the day sunbathing and swimming. If you’ve got nippers with less of an appetite for sitting down, point them in the direction of the playground and the beach volleyball court. Those who favour being out and about can easily get to the Müritz National Park for days moseying along walking or bike trails, or hire canoes and small motor boats on site to potter about on the lake. In fact, you’ll not be contained within one single lake – lots of the area’s lakes are connected by little waterways, so it’s easy enough to take in several without hauling your chosen craft out of the water. Back at base, the owners have made it easy to clean up and catch up with the world by kitting the place out with a wifi connection, a launderette and well-equipped bathrooms with handy extras like hairdryers.

Disliked: Duschmarken, Zufahrt etwas holprig, Kennzeichnung der Stellplätze etwas schwer zu finden.

Liked: Campinig was fantastic ! Localisation great , many beatyfull places next to the camp. You can fishing ,swimming and relaxinig , What You wont more ? People who staing there for long time are friendly. Me and My familly came here from Poland. Nicole from resepcion is great women ! She help me meny times with smile on the face :-) , she speak english very well so was no problem with comunications. Her team was also cool. Im very recommended this camp !! Liked: Ganz freundlicher und kompetenter Empfang, super saubere sanitäre Einrichtungen, guter Anleger fürs Boot, kompetenter und umsichtiger Platzwart, sehr ruhig gelegen. Wir hatten die Handys fast immer aus und haben wlan nicht getestet.

Liked: nichts aber wirklich nichts, auch den Platz nicht bekommen der gebucht war!!!

Disliked: Also ich schreibe hier im Namen meiner Frau. Paola Andrea Cardona. Sie unterichtete mir das dieser Campingplatz voller Nazis ist, unfreundliches Personal. Sie sind noch am selben Tag abgefahren und haben sich was anderes gesucht! Es waren 3 Frauen, alle spanische Nationalität! Unglaublich was mir meine Frau und ihre Tochter mir erzählt haben. Vielleicht sollte sich mal jemanddarum kümmern!!

Liked: Schöne ruhige Lage in See Nähe. Sehr saubere Sanitär Anlagen ( werden mehrmals am Tag gereinigt). Kleine Einkaufsmöglichkeit für Lebensmittel vorhanden. Der Stellplatz war auch sauber und gepflegt. Wer es ruhig mag ist hier genau richtig. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr nett.

Disliked: Einige Dauercamper denken der Zeltplatz gehört ihnen. Uns wurde gesagt, es gibt eine Badestelle für Hunde. Wir haben sie nicht gefunden. Bitte besser ausschildern. Der Platzwart sollte auch dringend seinen Umgangston Gästen gegenüber überprüfen.

Liked: Einfacher und Simpler Platz, bittet wirklich Zeit zum Entspannen. Man kann in der Umgebung viel Rad fahren oder man leiht sich ein Boot aus. Das Wasser im See hat eine gute Qualität, man kann sich dort wirklich sehr gut abkühlen. Der Campingplatz selber ist sehr Ruhig und bittet reichlich Platz zwischen den einzelnen Standplätzen. Man kann Brötchen bestellen und bekommt Lebensmittel und andere Sachen zu moderaten Preisen im Empfang. Der Platz verfügt über viele Wasserentnahmestellen an Stellplätzen die immer schnell zu erreichen sind. Der Platz wirkt sehr Naturbelassen dennoch ist er sauber und ordentlich. Das Sanitätshaus ist Modern und in der Regel sauber. Am Empfang befindet sich auch eine Entsorgungsstation für Campingtoiletten, sowie eine zentral gelegene Entsorgung für Grauwasser und Auftanken von Frischwasser. Das Personal ist grundsätzlich freundlich und hilft gerne weiter bei Fragen. Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt aus meiner Sicht. Im Preis von 33€ sind 2 Personen ein WoMo Stellplatz inkl. Strom sowie die Ver-und Entsorgung.

Disliked: Wenn man weiter hinten auf dem Platz ist muss man rechtzeitig zum Toilettengang aufbrechen, das ist aber jammern auf hohem Niveau. Der Platzwart sollte ab und zu überlegen wie er seine Gäste anspricht :) Auffällig fanden wir das die Bänke und diverse andere Sachen welche sich auf dem Gelände befinden schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen sind. (bei den Bänken schauen teilweise die Nägel raus und das Holz selber hat das beste hinter sich). Dadurch das der Platz sehr Naturbelassen ist hat es nach längerer Trockenheit auch sehr gestaubt wenn Auto's oder Fahrräder vorbei gekommen sind. Aber auch das ist kein wirkliches Manko.

Local attractions

With a lake and a forest right there by your digs, it’s a cinch to get out for a stroll from the site. If you’ve set your sights on something a little lengthier, make for the Müritz National Park (20 minutes’ drive), which has a whopping 660 kilometres of trail taking in views of forest, marsh and the park’s 130 lakes. Birdwatchers will definitely want to stash binoculars in their bag for a trip here in the hope of spotting cranes, ospreys and white-tailed eagles. If all this natural loveliness gets a bit much, turn your attentions to the man-made version with trips to Mirow Castle (20 minutes), moated Boitzenburg Castle (50 minutes) and the handsome Rococo-style Rheinsberg Palace (35 minutes). There’s no shortage of castles around here, as it happens: Neustrelitz (20 minutes) has another fab example, along with a zoo and more lakeside walks. You’ll need to book a tour if you want to view the collection of heritage planes at Rechlin aviation museum (half an hour); no need for advance planning if you’re visiting Kunsterspring zoo (50 minutes), although it’s worth scheduling your visit to take in at least one of the animal-feeding sessions.
