Electric grass pitch

Liked: Reception staff friendly and helpful. Site was a nice size , good views onto the lagoon, pitches were ok. On site shop was a nice surprise. Toilet and shower facilities were good , showers were hot so that was a bonus, just get there early if you don’t want to wait. Nice to have option of wifi.

Disliked: Pitch wasn’t level so check the site before hand if you need this, we was in a lwb camper. I wish I had booked a hard standing as they looked more level.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Second year staying at east fleet farm, the family love the location as it’s close to the Jurassic coast, the fields are kept very tidy with lots of bins. The kids park is big and great for all ages. The shop on site is handy too as it stocks near enough everything you could need or forget when camping. WiFi throughout the site. The staff are all friendly and very helpful, Especially Paula.

Disliked: If you are camping without an electric pitch with kids it can be quite power consuming, having some kind of lockers with electric sockets inside so we could leave the iPads to charge while out sight seeing would of been handy, otherwise it’s power banks and car charging. Not a major issue but to the kids it was a huge deal. A few of the family showers had no doors, so we couldn’t all go together. We had to take turns or let the kids play in the park while the adults got clean so they weren’t left alone for too long.

Liked: Beautiful clean site. Amazing views and great location. Park amd facilities good.

Disliked: Only one toilet block location (however they were spotless) so a bit of a walk in the middle of the night.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Close to Portland and surrounding area. Fab shop, fresh baked goods, restaurant and entertainment on site too.

Disliked: Pitches needed clearer demarcation. Had a tent pitch 1m away whilst we were out for the day. Didn’t have the heart to ask them to move it!

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Size of the pitches was great- accommodating large tent, gazeebo and a car. Easy check in, facilities on site- shop, pub. Hot water at all times, plenty of shower cubicles as two large blocks on site. Friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: Facilities little grub during the peak time. Toilets central to the large site, might be an issue at night if relying solely on those as a bit of a walk. Some pitches sloping- ours was. Couldn't connect to the wifi- didn't bother us but some guests might rely on it.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
