  • Peaceful Norfolk campsite with scenic lakes and streams
  • A 10-minute drive from the Blickling Estate; Mundesley 15 minutes
  • On-site natural fishing and tennis court available
With several lakes and streams spread around the 27 well-maintained acres on site, it’s all about the peaceful pace at Mill Farm Camping in scenic north-east Norfolk. From here, you’ll be well set to map out the way to many scenic places, including the Norfolk Broads (boat hire and watersports are ways to get out on the water here) or local seaside towns. The area around the small village of Felmingham, where this site is located, has lots of things to do itself, too. Depending on your mood, you could explore nearby coastal towns like Mundesley, Cromer and Sheringham, stroll 25 minutes down the road to the local pub or visit ornate country houses like the nearby Blickling Estate. Back at base, there are ample leisure opportunities for activities like natural fishing (although the site's waters are not maintained as a fishery) and tennis. Cyclists and walkers won't have to go far to get some exercise either, as Mill Farm Camping has very good access to the local network of north Norfolk footpaths and public rights of way. Facilities here include smart toilets and hot showers for ladies and gents, a washing-up area with hot running water and a chemical disposal point. Mill Farm Camping is also pet-friendly and welcomes dogs throughout the camping season.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: We love the lake, the wildlife, the peace and sheer beauty of this campsite. It’s well located, grass pitches around the lake. Our pitch has electric and water tap

Disliked: Perhaps heaters in show block. Two shower could get busy in high season

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: Beautiful setting with several small lakes to wander around. Had a lovely walk around the site with the dogs who enjoyed all the little trails and the wildlife. I visited in late October and had the whole site to myself. The owners gave me a key to the shower block so it could lock it whilst I was using it to make me feel more safe. Very kind and thoughtful of them 😊 All the facilities were clean and well looked after. There was a book and DVD swap to keep you entertained. My phone signal was poor but I am quite happy with that as it’s good to switch off sometimes. Overall a lovely place to relax and get away from the world.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Checkin was nice and easy with the owners showing the location they had allocated us and explaining how we could set up (with a lot of freedom in how to do that). Our pitches had individual taps as well as electricity points which was nice to have. Site was nice an peaceful (partly due to the time of year as it was not busy) and the facilities were all in good condition and well kept. Nice to see the re-wilding they are doing and to see the wildlife already there. Overall a nice relaxing weekend away with friends.

Disliked: Nothing really do dislike for us that is in the site control. Phone signal is very weak on all of the providers that we could see. It was enough to browse and do some content streaming but could take several attempts to get a response and would drop out on a regular basis.

Local attractions

For everything coastal, you’ll want to home in on Comer (20 minutes' drive). Whether it’s sticking to the sandy beaches, braving the surf or walks up on the Norfolk Coast Path, you’ll find plenty to do around the sea. All that water action isn’t just limited to the coast, though, as Wroxham (half an hour) is your go-to for boating in the Norfolk Broads. A little trip back in time is a good addition to any itinerary and as well as cycling and fishing on the grand Blickling Estate (10 minutes), you might want to pick up a heritage train trip on the Bure Valley Railway (10 minutes) or sniff around the Muckleburgh Military Collection (30 minutes) to see artefacts of old… or East Ruston Old Vicarage Garden (25 minutes) for all the scents of a sublime garden. And where else for some nostalgic-type moseying around? Mundesley (15 minutes) is a fine example of a traditional Victorian seaside village. Or, there are beach huts and the promenade at Sheringham (25 minutes) for another classic seaside outing.
