  • Luxury glamping on a 1,500-acre estate in the Cotswold hills
  • A five-minute walk from Bourton and a mile to a country pub with food
  • Play area, farm animals to meet and games room with books and sofa
Coming to the Cotswolds? You’ll not want to miss out on Notgrove Glamping Pods, a range of smart accommodation on a spectacularly scenic private estate five minutes' drive from Bourton-on-the-Water. Notgrove is a 1,500 working family farm high up in the Cotswold hills, with 400 acres of valley grassland and 10 acres of fields and woodland. A lot of the land is carefully managed as a wildlife haven, with 200 acres set aside as territory for the estate’s wildlife conservation scheme to encourage and feed bees, birds and beetles. New footpaths and bridleways have been added too for estate exploring. Glamping guests have access to walks all over the estate, including to the nearby paddocks where they can meet the Notgrove donkeys, goats and alpaca, all of whom are particularly friendly if you help out at feeding time... A play area is outside to keep small guests occupied; indoors, all ages can retreat to the comfy games room where there’s table football, table tennis and books, toys and games to suit all ages…. and a sofa where grownups can laze with a cup of something from the hot drinks machine. The estate is by the local village of Notgrove. The neighbouring village, Cold Aston a mile away, has a country pub serving food.

Local attractions

Notgrove is deep in the Cotswolds in 1,500 acres of private farmland, with access to the estate's walks and cycle paths. Several of the favourite walks and cycle routes have been mapped out for guests by the site team. The site is just under four miles from Bourton-on-the-Water and seven and a half miles from Stow-on-the-Wold, both excellent for whiling away a few hours browsing the many shops and having tea at Huffkins the famed bakery. Have an ice cream beside the river, then dinner at one of the many restaurants. The Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens (25 minutes) with rhinos, giraffes and lions is also a popular place for a day out; have some time too at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park (10 minutes), as featured on the BBC's Countryfile and home to animals, tractor rides and seasonal demonstrations of life on the farm. Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water 10 minutes away has a wide array of feathered species, including very cute penguins, and also has a dinosaur experience. Or try All Things Wild In Honeybourne (35 minutes), a family adventure park with animals, go-karts, dinosaur models and indoor soft play and sandpit. Sudeley Castle (20 minutes) is set in the medieval village of Winchecombe, holds many seasonal events and is open all year round. There are many National Trust sites in the area, from gardens at Hidcote (35 minutes) to Roman remains at Chedworth Villa (20 minutes). The Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection (10 minutes) is overflowing with vintage car collections, classic cars and motorcycles, caravans, original enamel signs and a collection of motoring curiosities.
