  • Small dog-friendly Cornwall eco-site with sea views near Launceston
  • A 35-minute drive to Bodmin Jail Attraction and 20 minutes to Tintagel
  • Woodland pitches near walks, cycling, beaches and family attractions
Fox Camping is a tiny eco-, family- and dog-friendly site set amid amazing beaches, walks and cycle rides – and with spectacular views of the sea near Launceston in North Cornwall. These large pitches lend themselves to running around and playing safely. The same care and attention goes to your canine friends, as the site owners welcome dogs – in fact, you can book day care for your dog and dog training too (both are an extra charge). A variety of pitches are available, some with parking, some with parking a few metres or 50 metres away. There are wheelbarrows to help you to your spot and picnic tables are available for a small charge. Fresh and tasty homemade pizzas are also regularly available on site for nights when you don't want to have to worry about what to cook. A footpath runs from the camping field to the ancient Warbstow Bury and if you walk or cycle to one of the villages, you’ll find eggs and other local produce for sale. Other beautiful local walks include the Camel Trail and the South West Coastal Path, while Bodmin Moor and a host of beaches make top spots to take the kids. If it rains, there are a couple of cinemas too: Rebel (15 minutes’ drive) and the gorgeous art deco Regal in Wadebridge (half an hour).

Lower Field unpowered grass tent site

Liked: What a fantastic site. Very quiet with plenty of space. The owner was very helpful and friendly, with nothing being too much trouble. The shower and toilet block was kept immaculate which considering the biblical rains we experienced was a tough job.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked: Peace and quiet. Great views. Good dog walking from site. No frills but well maintained facilities offering what you need. Pizza available from site owner. We were the only ones on site for the second night of our stay so can’t provide insight as to what its like when full but the pitches are large, site small and owner very helpful so I’m sure it would still be great.

Disliked: Nothing.

Unpowered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent site

Liked: Good location around Boscastle and Tintagel

Disliked: They forbade parking on the pitch so we had to walk for every necessary thing to the car standing in the parking lot which was a big difficulty. Toilets and showers do not close or are locked so high that a child or short person cannot lock themselves in a public toilet. Besides, the showers and toilets are shared so sometimes there were very awkward situations. We pulled out an overturned table lying in the bushes, which we fixed and cleaned ourselves by putting it next to the tent and to our surprise the owner asked us to pay for the use of this table.

From the manager: I am so sorry this was your experience. We have 5 pitches with parking and 6 without, you would have been welcome to book a pitch with parking, they are all the same price, I would also have happily moved you to another pitch. We have 7 picnic tables which we hire out at £2 a night and one was broken, so over tuned away from the pitches in order that it wasn't used before it was repaired. When requested we carry a clean and well maintained table to your pitch, so I'm again sorry you helped yourself to a broken one, I would have loved to get you a table. We have a block of 3 showers and 3 toilets, all the doors lock, I've just been to check and one toilet and one shower have a low lock for anyone that needs it. I would love to have contacted you to discuss further but as you've complained anonymously I can't. Please accept my sincere apology that you didn't enjoy your stay, kindest regards, Victoria

Liked: Site was very quiet, not many pitches which meant kids could run around and enjoy surroundings without disturbing other campers. Facilities such as toilets and showers were basic but functional.
