Liked: Location is amazing. So close to the beach. Host was extremely friendly when he came round to check on everything. The slope is not as bad as I expected, plenty of flat space for tents.
Disliked: Toilet was a bit full.

Not many level pitches, only a portaloo and water tap.

Liked: Absolutely loved it here, very quiet and out of the way but not too far to get down to explore the town. Absolutely beautiful scenery and the option to pitch wherever you like! The owner was so friendly and gave some great tips on exploring the local area! Ended up leaving early because the children were unwell but would love to come back!

Liked: What a lovely place. The field is a little steep so go prepared for that. The views are excellent, if you pitch @ the bottom of the field the sound of the waves will rock you to sleep. No light pollution so the stars are amazing. The chap came around to check all was okay for us, he was very informative and helpful. We can’t wait to go back.

Liked: I was amazed when I got to the gate. The campsite has three separate topographical features. You are practically on the beach, only separated by a hedge and a small quiet country lane. You can go to sleep listening to the waves on the shoreline. You are surrounded by the sizeable and beautiful exmoor hills. And furthermore they are covered by thick and ancient woodland. Stunning! At night there was virtually no light pollution and I could see every star. I’m glad I took my binoculars as I could stargaze at night and during the day I could watch the activity on the Bristol Channel (and try and make out features in wales). The owner was a really nice guy and the price is ridiculously low for such a treasure. Some of the site is on a slope it’s true but I’m not marking that as a negative as I pitched on the slope and I was ok. There was a place to recycle rubbish in the morning which was great. The toilet is functional. Make sure you have water with you. If you are a hiker or wild camper or even an astronomer you will love this spot. I was told by the owner the polish national swimming team stayed for a while as it was the closest site they had found to a swimmable beach. If you have time when you leave go towards lynton. There is a toll road nearby for 2£ and the journey takes you through some beautiful hills and woodland. Well worth the 2£. I was also told by the owner the country’s smallest chapel is a nice walks distance from the site and there is a pub close by that does good food. I’m afraid I didn’t check either of these out but wish I had.
Disliked: I have zero complaints. If you don’t expect all the trimmings you won’t be disappointed with this location.

Liked: Peace and quiet . Dark skies. Location and views of porlock Bay. Assistance of owner as struggled with 6m motorhome in (easier getting out)
Disliked: Entrance tight . Gentle slope is more of a hill and level spots hard to find

Liked: After arriving at the sight I phoned Matthew who was very helpful. Although the site is sloping we knew this in advance so had chocks for this purpose. Portaloo was clean and perfectly acceptable, again we knew in advance. Drinking water was easily accesible. The site has a great location. Matthew phoned and checked in on us to see if we had everything we needed, gave advice on walks to take. Said we could phone him any time if we needed anything. We had a fabulous 4 nights. Thank you again
