Electric optional grass pitch (large)

Liked: We stayed in the meadow in an electric pitch was like our own private space surrounded by hedges and trees. We had our own fire pit to the side or one to share with neighbours due to the weather we sadly did not get to use. Stayed for four days and it was lovely. My daughter enjoyed the rope/tire swings and the animals (lots of goats a couple of pigs and donkeys and the wild rabbits) We will definitely be going back to stay again but hopefully without the rain.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike although the addition of showers would have meant a longer stay

Meadow non-electric grass pitch

Liked: A lovely river running around the field. Clean compost toilets. A nice shop with goats cheese from the farm and fresh pastries in the morning (order by text the night before). Animals to look at (my daughter loved the dockeys). Family site.

Disliked: Nothing.

Electric optional grass pitch (large)

Liked: The animals were nice.

Disliked: Toilets were disgusting. Compost loo's work well when done properly, these were not! Place needs some serious maintenance and some money spending on it. Just chopping down the nettles would be a start!

Electric optional grass pitch (large)

Liked: Nice level pitch with our own picnic bench. Small ford across the road a short walk away

Disliked: I've stayed at sites with compost toilets before but nothing prepared me for the stench coming from this. Overall maintaining the chemical waste area has slipped and the washing up facilities might as well be taken away for all the good they are. We thought it was overpriced for state of the facilities. Never saw any site wardens or owner during our stay so leaving 0 star for that. We understand its a working farm, but please take away the washing up area and sort the loos and the nettles and overgrowth near pizza oven just general maintenance.

Local attractions

The farm is within easy reach of many top spots as well as Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury, Wells and Weston-super-Mare: spectacular Cheddar Gorge is 20 minutes' drive away, Longleat and Bath within 50, and Bristol just under an hour. Quieter times await around the region's walks, such as along the 30 miles of the West Mendip Way running from Wells via Wookey to the sea at Uphill, or the Strawberry Line (also 30 miles), a traffic-free route across Somerset from Shepton Mallet to Clevedon. Closer to home, amble along the River Axe flowing through the farm. Till ringers and fashion fans should take their wallets to Clarks Village, 20 minutes away, for outlet shopping and the Shoe Museum.
