Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: This touring park was simply beautiful!! We did not want to leave. It was so peaceful with wonderful views and located perfectly to visit various fantastic places around Cornwall. Locally, you have Perranporth, which is a lovely dog friendly place where dogs are welcome in pubs too. Craig is extremely welcoming, he gave us a lot of information and we knew we could approach him at any time to ask for any help if we needed to do so. The facilities were great and spotlessly clean. The free WiFi was fine and we had no issues with it at all. All I can say is that I wish we lived closer so that we could stay there every weekend. What a beautiful place. We highly recommend that people give this touring park a try. Thank you Craig for the warm welcome you gave to us. See you again as soon as we can.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Nice quiet site, very friendly management/owner. Very close to the "Saints Trail" which is lovely track into Perranporth. Other bridleways lead to the dunes.

Disliked: Lower field toilets could do with a bit of maintenance to fix the lights and slight plumbing leaks. Main toilet block is good though! Lovely views and

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked: Nice campsite, easy to get to and the warden Craig was lovely and really helpful. Unfortunately with all the wet weather lately getting to our gravel pitch was not the easiest, felt sorry for Craig as he had to keep hefting these really heavy mats for us to drive on. As we were there with our dog, and the weather was appalling ( storm Kathleen) there wasn’t much for us to do as we usually walk the coastal path so we did end up leaving early, but the site itself is clean and tidy. A gravel path down the middle of the field to make it easier to get to the pitches might be an idea.

Disliked: No real Wi-Fi to speak of. It only had 1 bar so I just hot spotted my phone but if you were there with kids for any length of time it might be an issue.

From the manager: Thank you for review. Our Free WiFi may struggle to penetrate some metal caravans….an external aerial or use in awning would solve issue. Glad you enjoyed our site & race car experience day in Perranporth.

Westmoreland 2 bedroom static caravan

Liked: Quiet site, but that's what we like anyway. Had everything we needed, a lovely play area as well. It was close to shops and attractions. Easy to get to using postcode. Site manager/owner was friendly, we got an upgrade as well due to a cancellation in one of the higher bands. Free Wi-Fi was very useful on the wet evenings, and the complimentary scones, jam and cream were enjoyed, the Cornish way of jam first obviously

Disliked: Honestly - just to be picky and because there's always room for improvement somewhere, the site was incredibly muddy, perhaps some paving slabs off the road to park cars on or a designated parking area would be better and safer, this would also prevent the owner having to add to his workload by pushing/towing cars out of the mud. 2 bulbs were out in our caravan but it was no big deal, could have happened anywhere.

From the manager: Great photos…Thank you for your review. Unimaginable UK wide rainfull but thankfully I’ve not had to tow any one as we use ground boards.

We loved our stay at Reen cross, lovely and clean, very quiet.…

From the manager: Yes I think the mud had something to do with the UK storm Kathleen impacting the whole of England. Still, Glad to hear you enjoyed your caravan. Hope to welcome you back in sunnier weather.

Liked: Fantastic site with good facilities, very clean and well kept. The best thing about the site was that it was really quite. There is a play area for children . I would definitely book here again as it was a good base to visit this area of Cornwall.

Local attractions

The beaches at Perranporth are less than two miles from Reen Cross Campsite and, along with Newquay, are top foamy spots for north Cornwall surfing and kitesurfing. Drop into the tourist office to get discount vouchers for the local surf schools if you'd like to learn how to board. Perranporth is also home to the gigs and pints of The Watering Hole, the only UK pub to be set right on the sands, and like all the seaside towns around Cornwall has easy access to the South West Coast Path, the spectacular 630-mile trail running from Minehead in Somerset along the Cornwall and Devon coasts down to Poole Harbour in Dorset. From Perranporth, hike to Newquay in one direction or to St Agnes or Portreath in the other; all places have provisions for pitstops for traversing further should you and your feet wish. Highly viewsome teeing off at Perranporth Golf Club is about a mile away; horse riding stables within the same distance, and a play park and football field are close to the site. Within easy driving distance are days out at Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, Newquay's Holywell Bay Fun Park, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway, and DairyLand Farmworld, the award-winning attraction near Newquay.
