Liked: We’ve stayed here a few times but not since last year. Great welcome and friendly staff! We requested a pitch at the rear of the site and had a stunning view over the fields to the Black Mountains. We enjoyed the walk into Hay which was lovely and quiet on the Monday before Bank Holiday weekend. Facilities spotless and showers excellent. Some works being done on the new statics area on the Tuesday before we left but it didn’t bother us. Still prefer that to a pitch near the road…

From the manager: Dear Tracy, Thank you very much for your review and the fantastic photos also! Really pleased that you liked the pitch and also that you had an enjoyable walk into Hay. When you come back again of course you can request the same pitch, and if you do happen to stay on a Thursday there is a really good food market in Hay. Best wishes, Lisa & Rob

Liked: Spotless toilets and showers - water pressure and heat great too. Site was clean, nice big pitches and great to have a picnic table. Peaceful location but nice 20 minute walk into Hay - good few pubs and the Thursday food market worth the walk! Very friendly staff and lovely little doggy to welcome you! Only stayed a night due to work commitments but will definitely be back!

Liked: Facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean, and as a Solo Female traveller, on my first car camping experience, I felt very safe. There was a warm welcome for me and my dog from Lisa too. My only worry is, that for my first campsite, the bar has been set really high and I can only hope that others that follow will reach Hillandale Hay on Wye same standards.🤞😊

From the manager: Thanks Sharon, that's really lovely that you felt safe and welcome, we hope you can come back again soon, best wishes Lisa & Rob
