  • Luxury off-grid cabins at a 14-acre farm in the Blackdown Hills
  • A 20-minute drive to Lyme Regis or Charmouth on the Jurassic Coast
  • Private outdoor rolltop bath and firepit for each cabin
Picture this: you’re relaxing in the warmth of an outdoor bath in a cosy private spot lit by atmospheric fairy lights, with a glass of something in your hand and the stars twinkling away overhead… If you like the sound of that, you’ll need to get yourselves down to the Devon countryside and a stay at Royal Oak Farm, where you can recreate this exact scene while staying at a 14-acre farm with fabulous views over the Blackdown Hills National Landscape. Each of the off-grid cabins here is set in its own private space with a vintage rolltop bath that’s been well positioned to make the most of the views, the sunsets and the clear rural night skies. Tempting as it may be, you probably can’t spend your whole break here in the bath, so at some point you may like to relocate to the seating by the firepit, where you can cuddle up and keep warm while continuing to look up into the starry skies (there’s a good reason why the cabins are named after constellations, you know…) Eventually you’ll want to retreat indoors, but that’s no hardship as these cabins are filled with luxurious touches including a kingsize bed, a well-equipped kitchenette and an ensuite bathroom with large walk-in shower. Large windows and a skylight mean you can continue to admire those views by day and night, too. By day, you’ll be in prime position for outdoor activities in the Blackdown Hills, trips to the Jurassic Coast or time spent poking around at National Trust properties. It’s also a good idea to stop by in Honiton (10 minutes’ drive) to pick up supplies for your cosy evening back at base.
