Liked: The site perfectly met our needs. The field was really quiet and there was plenty of space. The hot shower was amazing. Would definitely stay again if we needed to be in the area. Favourite part was watching dozens of birds play a game on the telegraph cables above us, whilst sitting having our morning cuppa.

Liked: Open field, nice and quiet location with farm animals
Disliked: Compost toilets, had I have actually realised what they were before booking I probably wouldn't have booked, but you live and you learn and it's something for me to keep an eye on when booking future sites

From the manager: Hello. I am sorry that the toilets had a negative impact on your stay. We are currently researching different eco toilets for next year. Laura

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: What a lovely first camping trip! Laura went above and beyond to help us when we had a typical all the gear no idea moment! Every child needs an open field with chickens wandering around and next to sheep!
Disliked: The only thing we disliked is we only booked one night! Wish we had stayed longer! X

Liked: Relaxed environment and simple camping , no frills. Lovely noise of farm animals. Owners on hand and friendly, lovely family and children were kind enough to bring us milk as we had forgotten ours ! Would recommend and happy to stay again. Good value for money : )
Disliked: Check out time says 10am - I didn’t realise until I checked at 10am however there was no fuss and we just packed up and left more like after 11ish.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Nice large, flat grassed area with no defined pitches. As only 6 bookings at a time we could have a nice big space set well apart. Friendly host with 2 lovely dogs that roam around freely and chickens to welcome me in the morning. Nice location for a walk to Stanstead House and close enough to drive to lots of nice places.
Disliked: One lousy couple who sat outside drinking all night, incredibly selfish and thankfully no reflection on other guests.

From the manager: Hi David. Thanks for your review. I wish you had said something to me at the time, I'm very happy to speak to guests and remind them of our quiet time policy. Laura
