Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The staff were really friendly and accommodating. We were running late due to traffic, and we got a call to make sure everything was ok and we were on route. The site is very clean, tidy, and peaceful. The fire pit is a great bonus and can buy a sack of logs for £10, better value than the supermarket. We stayed up every night around the camp fire toasting marshmellows. Everyone loved seeing the animals on site and went to say hello every morning. There's a lovely beach with a park and also a fish and chips, a kabab house and Chinese 5 minutes down the road by car.

Disliked: There is nothing we didn't like.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The campsite was very well organised with allocated pitches, staff facilitated us pitching up next to our family members. Facilities were clean and tidy, lovely atmosphere. Rachael was very friendly and attentive, there is a shop at reception with essentials. Fire pit provided on each pitch. The toilet facilities have cubicles with a toilet, sink, shower and hand dryer - the nicest toilets/showers we’ve had at a campsite! Bowles court was a nice touch which we made use of during our stay.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)

Liked: Decent camp only the second time we’ve been camping so still new to it all. Decent location to local towns and the seafront.

Disliked: Showers were ok, I think it might be personal preference but not a lover of the unisex style, so was pleased there was another block that have a little more privacy with the individual toilet and shower as we had a few children with us. I thought adding the extra £46 for and adult and 2 children was a little steep considering they were still in the same tent and when I priced it up at the beginning it was only a few pound extra but I didn’t add them when I booked initially as I didn’t have the confirmation until an hour or so later, so added them the next day.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, On arrival you paid an extra £42, this was for 1 extra adult and 2 children and an extra car, extra cars are £10 per night, Children are £3 per night and Adults are £5 per night, all the extra costing was explained to you on email when you requested to add them on. This comes to a total amount of £42 which was paid on your arrival. The price you paid on arrival is the exact same amount it would have costed if you added them on at the time of booking. All our showers are unisex, the best shower block to use with children is the showers at the end of reception as it has a large family cubicle. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us Kind regards, Rachael

Primitive grass tent campsite (large)

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly. The facilities were immaculate. The reception stocked camping essentials. Fridge/freezers were provided for guests to use. Fire pits on each pitch.

Disliked: The pitch we were given had a metal gate with gaps, so when the wind blew, it funnelled through the big gaps in the gate to our pitch causing us to experience trouble with our tent due to the powerful force of the wind. Everyone else’s pitch’s had a hedge behind them acting as a barrier, whereas we had the gate that allowed all the wind through, the tent was blowing so badly we packed up and came home a day early which was unfortunate.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The fact it was near a farm and in the middle of nowhere..quiet too.

Disliked: Our pitch wasn't level for our tent . No drainage when it rained buckets it was extremely muddy . The firepit was fixed so you couldn't move it so no choice where to put your tent plus very close to your neighbours.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Carol for your review Our pitches are 6m apart as per Licencing Law, they are all separated and line marked, some with hard standing parking spaces between, we were completely fully booked as it was bank holiday weekend. If all of our pitches were flat we would be completely flooded when it rains, our site has stone drains in all the roads, when you stayed we were one of the only sites in the area still open due to our drainage system. The rain will cause grass to go muddy as you are walking on it. All guests on booking are asked for the specific size of their tent in metres if your tent was too close to the fire pit it must have been too big for the size of pitch you had booked. Kind regards Rachael

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite (large)

Liked: Pitch size was great, lots of room. Shower block was ok the showers are not very powerful Rachael/the reception ladies were very helpful

Disliked: The owner! Very grumpy. Came to knock on our tent at 2320 to remind us that there was no noise allowed after 2300. Fair enough but we weren’t over loud and not near anyone! We were on holiday……

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you Shirley for your review, We had to come over and speak to you regarding the noise as we had several complaints from other campers, the cheering and shouting was heard from the very bottom of our site. Our quiet hours are between 11pm-8am this information is given to you on your arrival. Our campsite was fully booked and you had other campers all around you, the noise was excessive to the point we had to say excuse me over 4 times for someone to be able to hear us outside the tent. We were polite when asking you to keep the noise down, we have quiet hours for the comfort of all our guests. I understand that you are on holiday but so is everyone else on site, it is simple camping etiquette. Kind regards, Julie Site Owner

Primitive grass tent campsite (large)

Liked: Lovely people, clean site and nice facilities. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: Toilets aren’t stocked up enough. On 3 occasions me and my partner were caught on the toilet with no toilet paper. I think the implementation of a set cleaning time where the toilets are closed for half and hour would easily solve this issue.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review, so glad you enjoyed your stay I personally clean and restock the toilets every morning and check and restock as and when necessary, unfortunately when the toilets are busy i cant get into the cubicles to re stock the toilet roll as they are in use, setting a cleaning time doesn't work, we have had designated cleaning times in the past and people still go into them and use them just before the designated cleaning time. When you called me regarding no toilet roll all the other 8 cubicles had a full roll. I would advise checking to see if the toilet has loo roll before using it, to avoid any inconvenience. Thank you for your suggestion we look forward to seeing you again in the future. Kind regards, Rachael

On the site there was also fridge and freezer available for everyone.

Liked: They had two blocks of shower toilets, one was old, the new block was really nice but water wasn’t hot, just luke warm

Disliked: It was like staying in your backyard, all around was the big hedge! The rules was extremely strict, it was just very unfair

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Regarding your review You had booked 1 tent pitch but wanted to pitch 3 tents which you are unable to do I had informed you off this on your arrival. I am unsure as to how you can say its like staying in your back yard, if we didn't have hedges around the campsite then the wind would be extremely bad. The rules are in place for everyone's safety, and all details are in our terms and conditions before booking. Thanks Rachael
