  • Family-run working farm site six miles from the Norfolk coast
  • A 15-minute drive from Holkham Hall; 20 minutes from the beach
  • Arrange to meet the animals; pub a short walk away from the site
Craving a simple stay with a nice mix of the coast and countryside? You might find just the spot at Compton Hall… six miles from the Norfolk coast, this site is on a family-run farm 15 minutes’ drive away from Holkham Hall and 20 minutes from the closest beach. South Creake is the name of your new village stay. It’s a small village with a pub, handy for whenever you have a craving for a pint. At this site, you’ll be just a five-minute walk away from the village down a public footpath. There are plenty of walks around the farm itself too. You’ll have the company of farm animals here, including cows, sheep, pigs, goats, chickens and ponies. They're not off-limits either- you may arrange a visit to come and look at them or feed lambs with a bottle of milk during lambing times. And when you’ve got time to spend just having some downtime, you’ll be able to chill out feeling like you’re in a proper countryside hideaway with peace and sunsets in no short supply. Those of you who are self-proclaimed foodies may also want to hunt down some more tasty dishes in the local area. Luckily, Fakenham is one good spot 10 minutes’ drive away. The market town has lots of shops and places to eat out. Another is Burnham Market, 10 minutes’ drive away, where there’s another shopping and eating hotspot.
