Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Siamo arrivati quando era già buio ma un ragazzo ci ha dato le indicazioni principali ed é stato molto facile trovare tutto! Era la prima notte in giro con il nostro Van e ci siamo trovati molto bene!

Bell tent

Liked: The site had great views, friendly staff and not too crowded. We were in a bell tent, with stove and firepit provided which was perfect for us. The children loved the bell tent and playing games outside. There were short walks around the site for our dog, and we visited Shotover Country Park which was beautiful.

Disliked: Rain on second day but the spacious bell tent meant we were still comfortable. We were provided with electric hookup but the plug sockets didn't work. It would have been nice to charge our phones, but it didn't spoil the trip.

Bell tent

Liked: Perfect if you're looking for a simple campsite, with great views, and plenty of space for the children to play. Nothing was too much trouble, and although the facilities are basic, it's got everything you need.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Met personally on arrival despite it being late. Had a choice of pitches & even a suggestion how to orientate ourselves to enjoy the sunny views. Easy to get bus into the city. Nice although slightly unconventional facilities. Thoroughly recommend!

Local attractions

Part of the University of Oxford, Harcourt Arboretum (20 minutes’ drive) started life in the 1830s as a pinetum, but it has since grown to include California redwoods, maples and magnolias, among other plants. Seasonal spectacles include wildflower meadows and an area of woodland carpeted with bluebells. The exhibits at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford (half an hour) range from Egyptian mummies to a samurai suit of armour, as well as paintings by Renaissance and Impressionist artists. While in the university city, you might also want to check out the ornate ceiling of the Divinity School and the elegant Radcliffe Camera, with its circular reading room, both part of the Bodleian Library. The birthplace of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace (35 minutes) is a vast 18th-century mansion on the banks of the River Glyme. After admiring its richly decorated rooms hung with portraits, head outside to explore its grounds, which include formal gardens, follies and water features.
