Pitches

  • Touring pitches behind a family-friendly Co Kerry pub on the N22
  • A 10-minute drive to Killarney; 15 minutes to Gap of Dunloe
  • Pub menu of local produce for eating in or takeaway
Parking up behind a pub for a night or few is a fine choice for touring guests – gone are the days of discussing whose turn it is to drive to dinner, because you’ll simply be able to stroll from your van to the pub and home again with little fuss. That’s part of the attraction at The Kerry Way, a family-friendly pub with touring pitches in its grounds. Settle in here and you’ll be able to spend your days exploring Killarney and the Co Kerry scenery before heading back for a comfy evening in the pub with no need to factor in the drive home. There are plenty of drinks on offer at the fully licensed bar, for consumption inside or out on the open-air tables if it’s a fine day. Meals are on the menu too, whether you’re in the mood for a light snack or a belly-filling full meal. It’s all made from fresh local produce, and several options can be packed up for a takeaway if you fancy cosying up in your van for the evening. Guests have access to pub toilets but please note there are no separate facilities in the accommodation area. You’ll be able to use the wifi connection and charging facilities though, and you’re welcome to bring dogs along for your stay here. This is a handy location for getting out and about into the local area – the pub is just off the N22 about 10 minutes’ drive from Killarney, with plenty of options around for hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, kayaking and other outdoorsy pursuits.

Liked: Not an ideal stop for campers. The site was in the main car park. So you are surrounded by parked cars There was no peace and quiet as people frequented the pub and restaurant until late. Also next to the busy main road. Wouldn't recommend

Unpowered gravel caravan site

Liked: Toilet in pub when open. Spaces on June Bank Hols when everywhere else full. Friendly staff, relaxed place and food good.

Disliked: Slopey ground but better to park at back as quieter because near busy road. Nothing other than The Kerry Way pub nearby.

Liked: The food at the pub was great

Disliked: We decided to not actually stay! The camping area isn’t separate from the main customers parking, there’s not space to put a chair out on or have kids play a little. It’s a bit 🫤 tbh
