  • Family and couples' site on the Devon/Cornwall border
  • A mile and a half from Bude and its beaches
  • Fishing, golf, sports barn, farmyard animals and nature trails
'In the countryside, by the sea' is how the Colwill clan describe their site Wooda Farm Holiday Park on the Devon/Cornwall border, which will sound pretty perfect to peeps who dither between both as a location for their hols… Wooda is a park for families and couples, run by the Colwills since 1975, with lush views of the Cornish coastline and the countryside, and loads to do for time spent on site, like a fishing lake, pitch and putt, a sports barn with fitness suite and badminton, and activities like archery and tennis in school holidays. Want to take things a tad more easily? Wander and wildlife watch around Wooda Farm's 40 acres of parkland or take a book to the park gardens. The kids will likely want to meet the four pygmy goats, chickens and lambs that live on the farm, and when (if) they finally tire of that, they can roam among the woodland paths and nature trails or hang out in the games and TV room. For the under-fives, bouncing around the toddlers' playroom (with Wendy house, slide, bean bags, ride-on toys and a new soft play area) should be a bit of a hit. The Wooda Farm amenities – three shower and toilet blocks with hairdryers and sockets, disabled facilities, undercover dishwashing sinks, campers' kitchen and a washing point for wetsuits – are excellently maintained, and the park also has a well-stocked licensed shop, a launderette and wifi. Plenty of picks for food are on hand too, with home-cooked meals (and plenty of picks for beer and wine) in the Courtyard bar and takeaway food in the Lodge. Bringing the pooch? There's even a special shower for mucky pups who've been running around the extensive dog walking area.

Powered concrete slab caravan site

Liked: Great sized site with plenty of stuff to do ( at extra charges)

Disliked: Big site with limited bins 1 either side of the site , Staff was a little unhelpful! Traveled there with friends and even with plenty of notice asking if we could have 2 pitches together and requesting them on booking we turned up and was told we couldn’t ! Even tho there was plenty of empty pitches next to each other !! Also being a family with young children we asked to use the family shower room which was locked with a code lock so we asked for the code and if we could use it and was told no because we were only there for 3 nights , Also there is plenty to do there all with extra charges which wasn’t expected

From the manager: Thank you for kindly taking the time to post a review following your recent stay as we appreciate the comments that you have made regarding the park and the facilities that we have to offer. I am however sorry to read your other comments. When a booking is made pitches can be requested together and a confirmation is always sent to the customer which shows the pitch number if they have requested a specific pitch/es. Pre-arrival letters are also email to customers prior to their arrival stating the pitch that they have been allocated. I can therefore assure you that when you made your booking and/or asked on arrival we would have done our absolute best to offer you 2 pitches together providing we had the availability to do so. With regards to the refuse/recycling bins provided on the park. Prior to covid we had various refuse areas on the park, but some guests did not like being pitched near to these bins so a decision was made to move the bins areas away from the pitches and have two main areas each side the park and there is also a refuse bin near to The Lodge Takeaway. The family bathrooms are for sole use and are chargeable at £10.00 per day for a minimum of 3 nights. I am sorry that you were told that you were unable to pay for one and this must have been due to no availability. There are many activities that we offer onsite and additional charges do apply to some of these. The Gym is £5.00 per person, per hour, Badminton/Tennis is £5.00 per hour including equipment hire and the Pitch & Putt is £3.00 per person including equipment. In the peak seasons we do offer additional activities such as Yoga, Pottery Painting, Children’s - Football, Archery and Arts & Crafts and these also incur an additional charge. We employ a great team and continually receive feedback from guests staying how hard working, happy and helpful they are and I am therefore sorry to read the comment that you have made. We hope to welcome you back to Wooda in the future. Kind Regards, Wooda Farm Holiday Park

Powered grass caravan site

Liked: Our second visit here, this time for just one night for the Bude jazz festival. We had a friendly welcome and the check in process was straightforward. Everything was as we expected and despite the site being very full, the noise levels were low and it was a peaceful night (unlike other sites in the southwest at this time of year).

Disliked: Upper meadow as extreme wind

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to submit a review following your stay on a non-electric pitch in Upper Meadow. Upper Meadow is an extremely popular due to the open feel of this area and the amazing views, but unfortunately guests staying in this area can be a little more exposed should it be windy. We look forward to welcoming you back to Wooda in the future. Kind Regards, Wooda Farm Holiday Park

Liked: The site was amazing. Acres of land offering such a variety of things to do. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The on-site shop sells all you will need and at a great price. Plenty of toilets and showers that never got overcrowded. We took a walk down to bude beach which took about 1/2 an hour. However there is a bus which picks u up right outside and allows dogs on. We will definitely be returning and have already been recommending it to friends and family.

Upper Meadow unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked: Arrived as the first night of our road trip across Cornwall. Receptionists really helpful and welcoming and provided information on the site and Bude itself. We were located on the top camping field and we had the freedom to pitch where we wanted. The evening was finished with a beautiful sunset! We used the onsite takeaway hut, and although it was busy, food was good quality and was served hot. This worked well as it was too windy to cook on our gas cooker. Facilities were great! Thank you, Wooda.

Upper Meadow powered grass caravan site

Liked: We requested a quiet corner and considering it is a very family friendly campsite - it was quiet and secluded at the top (EHU UM17)

Disliked: Very family friendly - not for us but so much to do with kids
