Liked: Really lovely, quiet and well maintained campsite! Spacious pitches. Clean facilities, fire pits available with logs available to purchase on site, freezer. It was a third time I have visited this campsite and it never disappoints. I’ll be back next year for sure:) 👍

Liked: The campsite was perfect for my daughter and I. It is close to the A303 to go down to Stonehenge and the West Country so a great place to stop on the way. It’s beautiful, nestling in rolling hills as well as the gorgeous ‘chocolate box’ villages of the Clatfords, Longstock and Stockbridge. If you like walking there are plenty of fabulous walks right by the campsite Danebury Hillfort is fabulous. Andover is the same as most towns is great for essentials and the Museum of the Iron Age is worth a visit if the weather is bad. The facilities are kept very nice and clean, there are shower and toilet pods. Theres no caravans or electric here. The pitches are well spaced, level and fire pits are available with kindling and logs available to buy. All in all, a brilliant little campsite in beautiful countryside well worth a stay.

Liked: Another nice stay at Rowbury, peaceful and a nice pitch.

Disliked: This stay I experienced a water pressure issue in the electric showers, 2 of the showers were being used, when someone flushed a toilet the shower pressure dropped and switched to cold only until the toilet cistern was full again.

Liked: Choosing own pitch - got a huge pitch for our little group of families, we loved having our own area to play ball games. Kids loved the piled up logs area and played lots of imaginative games over there Pitches very spaced out, and overall a peaceful site, everyone was pretty much quiet by 9:30ish. We visited and would recommend: - The Hawk Conservancy (excellent) - Winchester science center (great on a very rainy day!) - Charlton Lakeside Park (decent playground, small cafe, beautiful lakes and walking routes. - Stonehenge

Local attractions

In terms of sights and activities there are some headline acts around here, but you can pass an easy half day or two without straying too far. Footpaths crisscross the local area (one leading to Danebury's Iron Age fort), and National Cycle Route 246 also passes right by: this is a spectacular stretch you can pedal all the way through the North Wessex Downs up into Berkshire. Similarly close by, splat each other with paintballs and shoot each other with lasers a two-minute drive away at the local activity centre, or zip through the treetops on wires and ropes at Treerunners (10 minutes). For a more sedate time, tour the vines and sip the wines at Cottonworth, five minutes away. It's a half-hour drive to Neolithic Stonehenge and a similar distance to Highclere Castle, in use in one form or another since the eighth century and most recently as the set for British TV hit Downton Abbey. The surrounding North Wessex Downs are fine walking country, just as the elegant stately home and gardens at Hinton Ampner (40 minutes) make a good intro to the South Downs. More top walks and wildlife spotting can be had as the National Nature Reserve of ancient Langley Wood (40 minutes away) merges with the New Forest. To see some of that wildlife close up, the Hawk Conservancy Trust is 15 minutes away, with feeding and flying displays from the resident raptors.
