Liked: The site itself was lovely. We are family of 4 with a 2 and a 4 year old. The park in the middle of the site was great as we could always see the girls. Big grass are to run around on. The bathroom facilities were great, very clean. Ladies had 2 shower rooms (£1 to use for 5 mins) and 2 toilets. Washing up sink was outside. We had a lovely 3 night stay. A very nice site, well recommended.
Disliked: Only slight problem was we were on a sloping pitch - we are fairly new to caravaning so be prepared with your wood to level it out. Experienced campers won't have a problem.

Liked: Lovley open feel to site. Level campervan pitches arranged around the perimeter with a large green space (with a play area) in the middle. Toilets/showers well-appointed and clean - loved the Alice in Wonderland murals. A secure site with ANPR controlled gate. Emailed pitch number before arrival, making for contactless check-in. A short drive into Darwen town centre, with it’s interesting building, and shops, including supermarkets. Great walks over the downs to the tower, visible from the campsite, Easy access to Manchester area.
Disliked: Nothing

Shep-Pod camping pod (hot tub, adults only)
Liked: Could not fault a single thing! Attention to detail was amazing, cost was so reasonable. we have stayed similar places previously and paid double the price for much less. The thought put into the small touches really made our stay amazing.
Disliked: Not a single fault to pick!

Powered concrete and grass caravan site
Liked: Well set out field
Disliked: Toilet only 2 for whole male half of site no urinals, no hooks for coats or towels in cubicles. 2 showers electric £1for 5 mins difficult to control temperature. One fresh water tap for whole site. One tap for double washing up bowl which was only cold on our second day maybe too many people used the hot tank up. ANPR entrance exit could not read our number plate had to telephone each time to get in and out. Would nt use this site again

Liked: Spacious pitch, clean facilities, great for families, with young children, because a large central green space so you can see your children at all times.
Disliked: Pitches don’t have lines to mark out spaces clearly and this led to a man getting quite aggressive and shouting inappropriately about where to park - not pleasant in front of the children. Dog poo on the green space but this is the responsibility of dog owners.
