Liked: Absolutely loved this place. Everything was brilliant. Dave and jill could not do enough for us, they’re such a lovely, friendly couple. This lovely little find sits right opposite Bolam lake which is stunning and great for walking our little dog. There’s also a cafe here that sells snacks, pop and simple meals which was also spot on!
Disliked: Nothing to dislike. Can’t wait to return

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and we are so pleased that your enjoyed your stay at our little campsite. We are in the heart of the countryside but we are lucky to have some great pubs and coffee shops nearby. The cafe at Bolam Lake Country Park is great and less than a 5 minute walk from the campsite so perfect to call in for drinks and treats if you are walking at the lake. Thanks for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.
A friendly camping experience close, but not too close to home.

Liked: Incredibly welcoming and friendly hosts, clean and well appointed dishwashing / water / loo facilities. Nice location, an easy familiar drive from Newcastle, yet a true sense of being in the country.
Disliked: I had to return to the world afterwards!

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback and we are so pleased that enjoyed your stay with us. Lots of our guests are relatively local and live within an hour travelling distance from the campsite - they too enjoy finishing work, packing the essentials and heading off to the countryside for an evening of peace and relaxation. It was great to meet you and we hope that you visit again in the future. Thank you

Liked: What an amazing place. David and Jill both lovely and would do absolutely anything for you. The area is nice peaceful and very clean. Toilets checked morning and night, and have replacement toilet rolls etc inside. Sink area has washing liquid provided and also has a mains water tap. We only stayed for the 1 night just so we could pitch our new tent but wish we had stayed an extra night.
Disliked: Cannot fault anything

From the manager: Thanks so much for sharing your feedback - your comments are so helpful to other families who may be planning a camping trip. We are a Wanderlust campsite and offer our guests the simple camping experience but it's really important to us that our guests have everything they need and have access to clean facilities, spacious pitches and our help if needed. Thanks so much and we look forward to meeting you again in the future.

Liked: Excellent location - we like peace & quiet which it certainly was - lots of lovely walks around and spectacular views. Dave and Gill (the owners) were so very helpful, friendly and informative.
Disliked: Need to drive to eat out - but we barbecued anyhow

From the manager: Thanks so much for your lovely feedback and we really appreciate your positive comments and all of the helpful information. The rural location of our campsite does mean that you have to drive if you prefer to eat out but we do have some lovely country pubs and good coffee shops close by. We include lots of information about local amenities in our guest information pack which we send out to all guests prior to their stay and we are always around to give advice if you are looking for somewhere great to eat or visit. Thanks for staying with us and we hope that you visit again soon. Great photos too! :)

Liked: I don't want to shout too much about this site as I want to keep it all to myself! We had the best time - fabulous views, great location, owners where fantastic nothing was too bother. Facilities are basic but immaculate -this is a proper camping site back to basics, arrive, set up and chill. Will definately be using again and again as our bolthole weekend escape more often. Our doggie loved the early morning walks around Bolam lake (we had all to ourselves) and although i've had many day trips to bolam lake I hadn't realised it had so many paths leading off to hidden spots and views, great for kids too, stacks of places to play and build dens etc. Thank you David and Jill and keep this up its fabulous.

From the manager: Thanks so much for your very kind and informative feedback. We consider ourselves to be very fortunate to live in this lovely area and we love sharing it with our guests too. Bolam Lake is beautiful and there are lots of lovely walks from the campsite - it's a great base to visit the coast and surrounding countryside too. Thanks so much and we hope that you stay with us again very soon.
