Liked: We was very impressed with the friendly staff making us feel very welcome both on the site and in the bar the site had a calm, peaceful atmosphere making the weekend very relaxing

Disliked: The lake had lots of weeds and Lilly pads making it unsuitably for fishing One thing my husband was planning on doing

Liked: Stayed here at the beginning of June for 2 nights. We were greeted by friendly reception staff and quickly shown to our pitch, where there was plenty of room for a caravan, awning and car with room to spare. Very clean toilets and showers. We did not hear any noise on a night, very quiet. The grounds are lovely, there are geese, ducks, swans and a good size lake for fishing. We went in the bar on the Saturday night, where we watched the entertainment. Once again, the staff were very friendly, our dog appreciated the free treats.

Disliked: Nothing, we are definitely going back.

Liked: Very pretty scenery. Well kept play area. Although, the grass everywhere needed cutting, full of duck & geese poo.

Disliked: Lack of facilities, no shop on a very big site. No signal never mine WIFI, my children had melt downs because the weather was so poor. Electricity not the best tripped 5 times. If I used microwave and radio at same time. ( never had this before) if you are on your own without a vehicle you definitely need a 🚲.

Liked: Everything from first driving into the estate you felt like royalty and the staff treated you like one they could not do enough to make your stay a rememable one The facilities on site are spotless with what look like new toilet and shower block they are that clean and heated. I must mention the Bar which is brilliant for the site happy hour is a brilliant idea also they have a mobile unit that cooks snack food burgers chips etc I’m definitely going back again Oh I should mention the fishing lakes My husband was very impressed he said it was well stocked The history around the estate is a must to read and a visit to the Hall If I say the biggest whale in the world Then the story of Mobydick it has a connection to the estate I will be returning in a couple of months and I can’t wait

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: This site is definitely at the top of my likes. Staff were friendly and helpful Everything was on site to meet our needs. Shower/toilet block was modern and clean. Bar with a large bear garden was open 2pm till late at weekends, 5pm till late during the week. Onsite food van sells burger, pizzas and hot dogs, although it was only open on Saturday at 5pm till 8pm.. there’s lots of takeaways, although we had to drive to reception to meet delivery driver, as reception is a bit of a trek from pitches, but this was not a problem. The site is located round a large fishing lake with lovely views and nature walks. Would definitely recommend this site. One we will consider returning to. There was also a lovely area to let our 2 dogs off.

Disliked: The electric kept tripping

Local attractions

Naturally your first stop will have to be Burton Constable Hall, a short walk away across the parkland. You might like to take a tour of the house, or explore the stunning gardens a bit more, or perhaps follow one of the trails (the wildlife sculpture trail is a particular favourite). There are also various play areas for the kids, and an event programme that runs through high season. Next stop may well be Hull (20 minutes’ drive), where the top spots include The Deep aquarium, the maritime museum and the Streetlife Museum of Transport, where you can see all sorts of old vehicles including cars, trams and trains – and all for free… If you fancy more urban time, plan days out in Beverley (half an hour) or York (an hour and 15 minutes). Or maybe it’s time to head to the sea? Bridlington (40 minutes) is the place to go for a beach day, while Spurn Point (half an hour) is a wilder area of dunes and bird-spotting.
