Waveney River Centre is the Broads' multi-award winning Holiday Park & Marina, set in the beautiful surroundings of South Norfolk's Waveney Valley, with stunning south and west facing views across marshes and river. The Park is a wildlife haven, where you can spend hours watching birds, insects and other wildlife from the peace & quiet of your holiday lodge, or venture further along the river by day cruiser or canoe. The Park features a family-friendly pub, indoor heated swimming pool & café, children's play areas, large convenience store, launderette and information centre. Our touring & camping area is small and family-oriented, with room for 14 touring caravans and 25 tents - plus our 7 yurts and 6 Pods. It occupies an idyllic south-facing location overlooking the marina and river, with leisure centre, showers, toilets & wash up area all immediately adjacent. Our Escape Pods feature double bed, 2 single beds, heating, double glazing, TV, power point and plenty of storage space - and our yurts include a double bed, sofa bed, wood burner, electric hookup and radiator. Use of the showers and toilets are included in the price of your pitch, and there are no extra person charges. There is also a launderette, with commercial grade coin-operated washing machines, tumble dryers & iron. Our individual wet rooms feature shower, basin, WC, hairdryer and underfloor heating. Now you've no reason to stay tucked up in your sleeping bag - your bathroom awaits! Our refurbished pool is open year round, and the adjacent café is open April to October and weekends in winter. Waveney River Centre was judged Best Broads has received David Bellamy's Gold Conservation accolade every year for the past 9 years.

Route directions

Follow the A143 to Haddiscoe and turn at the village hall into Wiggs Road, signposted Waveney River Centre (left when travelling from the east and right when travelling from the west). Continue to follow the brown signs, turning left into Burgh Road after 2 miles and proceed for another 2.5 miles until you arrive at the Centre. Please note that the route is narrow and passes through a small village so please drive carefully having regard for our neighbours. If your Tom Tom tells you to go a different way, please ignore it and follow the brown signs instead. The route usually suggested by satellite navigation systems features a number of blind bends and is completely unsuitable for holiday traffic.

Local attractions

No Broads holiday is complete without a trip on the river to explore the famous Norfolk & Suffolk Broads. We have a range of vessels to suit most budgets and requirements, from rowing boats and canoes to luxury day cruisers with galley, WC and cabin. Directly opposite the Park is Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve and the Angles Way long distance footpath. A 1 minute trip on our pedestrian ferry (dogs welcome) delivers you to Suffolk, right on the edge of the nature reserve. Angling is a perennially popular sport with all ages and our riverside location is the ideal spot for pike, roach and bream - either from the bank or a boat. Rods, bait, starter fishing kits and other accessories are all available from our shop. Let the kids play in our adventure play area, or take them to Eddie's secret garden, where they can play hide & seek in willow huts, climb on the oak-osaur and check out the bugs in their hotels and stumpary. Walking & cycling are other popular activities, or you could visit the parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, with its unusual Ziggerat tower. If you'd like to see more of the local wildlife, we can arrange a bird tour or wildlife safari, or you can try out some of the other local attractions on offer in Norfolk & Suffolk.
