Electric grass pitch

Liked: The space is very wide and clean. You have all the facilities close to tour pitch. Great place to pla5for the children. The staff very friendly and ready to answer all the questions.

Disliked: We didn't know that we need a extension lead for electricity but the staff borrowed from them until we bought one.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Reception staff friendly and helpful. Site was a nice size , good views onto the lagoon, pitches were ok. On site shop was a nice surprise. Toilet and shower facilities were good , showers were hot so that was a bonus, just get there early if you don’t want to wait. Nice to have option of wifi.

Disliked: Pitch wasn’t level so check the site before hand if you need this, we was in a lwb camper. I wish I had booked a hard standing as they looked more level.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked: The location is beautiful. Lovely walks from the site. Convenient shop and bar, both with good opening hours. Pitches are well-spaced and people are friendly and respectful. Also liked the shower set-up, having a whole room (like an ensuite) was great.

Disliked: The prices at the bar were a little steep. Another shower block on the stable field would be good as there were always queues. More laundrette facilities would also be good - we had to wait ages for a washing machine, and then ages again for a dryer.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Family friendly clean and quiet site with no road noise. Although a large site, the layout with hedgerows makes it feel smaller which is lovely. There's a pub onsite with ok food and live music on some of the nights. The views are epic and you are in easy access to Weymouth and surrounding area.

Disliked: The shower were clean and nice to use and we loved the family ones. However there are simply not enough showers onsite considering the number of pitches so there can be a substantial queue at times.

Local attractions

Can’t keep your eyes off the sea views? Pick up the South West Coast Path at the bottom end of the park, or head for favourite spots along the Jurassic Coast like West Bay (half an hour’s drive) and Lulworth Cove (35 minutes). The Isle of Portland (15 minutes) is also a great place for a walk, and it’s also got lots of watersports including windsurfing, coasteering and scuba diving. Weymouth (10 minutes) is another perennial favourite for its lovely sandy beach and attractions like the Sea Life Centre and Pirate Adventure Golf. You can also get to the town on two wheels by picking up the Weymouth Trail cycle route from the bridleway by the site (or follow the full nine-mile trail up into the hills…) Other options for days out nearby include Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (15 minutes), Vurlands Animal Farm (20 minutes) or an arty afternoon at Sculpture By The Lakes (half an hour).
