To some it’s famed for its historic steam trains and slate caverns; to others it’s a buzzing hive of outdoorsy activities. But whatever brings you to Blaenau Ffestiniog, it's a good bet to bag a berth at Quarry View Touring Park. This quiet touring park has been set up with life’s essentials in mind: a picnic area provides a place for open-air eats, and there’s a washing-up area, chemical disposal point and a waste area with recycling bins. Likewise, the shower blocks have been thoughtfully kitted out: benches and hooks save your clobber from damp patches and shaver points and a hairdryer will keep you looking dapper. And although there's no wifi on site, the presence of three mobile phone masts nearby means that most guests should be able to access 4G services. Any amenities that aren’t on site are most likely available nearby: it takes 10 minutes or so to walk into town for shops, a cinema, pubs and takeaways or to board a train from the station (regular services run from here to Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed as well as the heritage line to Porthmadog). Also within walking distance are the adrenaline activities at Zip World Llechwedd, including the Titan zipwire and Bounce Below, both set up in repurposed slate caverns. Looking to explore further afield? An excellent idea – this nifty location is under half an hour’s drive from Portmeirion, Harlech Castle and Snowdonia National Park.

No me gustó: First night we arrived van broke down, booked for three nights, no real support or care shown by owners and made to feel as we were a bit of a nuisance with RAC having to come out. Also encountered attempted bullying tactics from a party of newly arrived older guests, two men of the group towards myself and another female friend who came to bring things to help with our breakdown, who recently arrived after our two small young dogs who had been cooped up in the van whilst we attempted to resolve the issues causing the breakdown had barked outside out of excitement to greet our friend when she arrived. Following this we were made to feel uncomfortable, despite other new guests arriving who’s dogs were barking also when ours weren’t, and when mentioned to the owner the responses was ‘well the weather was dry yesterday why did it take two of you to stay with the van one of you could have went out all day with the dogs’ which made us feel like naughty kids being told off and again no real care for the situation at hand and the distress it caused with the breakdown plus the fact the site was in the middle of nowhere, we weren’t familiar to walk around slate quarries just me on my own with the dogs and that I was the policyholder for the breakdown cover so was told had to be present when the patrol arrived. We were towed off the site yesterday by recovery truck but again no compassion and made to feel like a hindrance by one of the owners and another male employee when they walked passed as the recovery was in progress. More care could have been provided as even a little bit of sympathy or being asked if any support was needed rather than being made to feel like a hindrance would have gone a long way Wouldn’t visit again as even though it was a lovely clean site it just lacked any warmth or compassion when a little bit of that would have went a long way during the whole situation we encountered with the breakdown

Even if you’re not much of a train buff, it’s worth taking a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway – the steam-powered services take in some of Snowdonia’s most spectacular scenery as they wend their way down to the coast at Porthmadog. If you’ve got an appetite for more, connect here for the Welsh Highland Railway all the way up to Caernarfon. If you’d like to explore under your own steam, there are heaps of hikes in the surrounding Snowdonia National Park – Snowdon itself is just a few miles away, or you may prefer a quieter clamber up Crimpiau from Capel Curig or a circuit of Llyn Idwal from Ogwen Cottage for something a bit less leg-busting (both routes about half an hour's drive). The site is also a few minutes’ amble from the Antur Stiniog mountain bike trails, with an uplift service that’s been tipped as the country’s best. Not enough adrenaline yet? The site is also a 10-minute stroll from Titan ZipWorld (to fly along two kilometres of zipline) and the underground adventure park in an old slate cavern at Bounce Below. Calm that heart rate a little by heading coastwards for a trip to pretty Portmeirion or a wander around the castle and beach in Harlech – both are about half an hour away by car.

La dirección se reserva el derecho a denegar el acceso o poner fin a la estancia de cualquier cliente cuyo comportamiento se considere inapropiado. No se le ofrecerá ningún reembolso a dicho cliente.
Las radios, los reproductores de música y los televisores deben mantenerse a un volumen bajo. Las puertas de los vehículos y los maleteros deben cerrarse suavemente.
Las reservas son personales e intransferibles.
Se debe respetar el silencio absoluto entre las 23:00 y las 08:00.
Si tiene una queja, por favor preséntela inmediatamente en la recepción. Las quejas que no hayan sido presentadas a la administración durante su estancia no podrán ser resueltas después de su salida del camping.

Llegadas y salidas

Las llegadas tardías deben ser notificadas al camping tan pronto como sea posible. Su reserva estará garantizada durante 24 horas. Pasado este tiempo, la dirección se reserva el derecho a reasignar su parcela/alojamiento a otra persona.
Las parcelas/alojamientos se asignarán a la llegada.
