Activities on offer are amazing unfortunately we couldn't do as weather. Owner was friendlest and accommodating person ever cudnt have been more helpful!! This is by far the best hidden gem u could ever find I've already started planning my next visit!!!!! This place is incredible!!!!!! If I cud have given more than 5 stars I would!!!!! Xxx

Thank you for the review, glad you enjoyed your stay and the site. There's approximately 7 dedicated water taps on site (not including taps in toilet blocks), there was one actually a stones throw from where you were camping. However we do accept that signposting visitors to these taps could be much better, and for that we apologise. We hope to have printed maps of the site produced soon, which will be given to guests upon arrival, as we acknowledge that we need to make it easier for visitors to understand all the facilities we have on site and where they are located. They suggested near by walking routes and informed me of additional resources such as firewood that I could buy. They clearly recognised that I was a first time camper and ensured that I was prepared for a night in the woods taking into consideration the high winds forecast for that night.
The wild forest pitch was as close to wild camping as you can get. Obviously when you book in January you'll expect the site to be pretty sparse however; the pitching sites where well spaced so I would expect that even in the warmer months you'll be a good distance from any neighbours.
Unfortunately I arrived following heavy rainfall, so some of the walks were cut off due to flooding however; if you check your OS maps there are plenty of trails worth exploring.
The toilet facilities were very clean until I trailed my dirty boots though them (for which I apologise).
On leaving the guys were just as helpful and I look forward to returning with my kayak for use on one of the lakes within the grounds.

Thanks Sean, i'm glad the team were helpful, especially as you are new to camping. we are fortunate given the size of our site, that campers are indeed spaced a reasonably good distance from one another in most pitches (especially the woods and meadow). The week you came it was indeed exceptionally wet due to all the heavy rain we had, i'm glad you didn't let it dampen your spirits though (and don't worry about the muddy footprints in the toilet, if we had a pound for every muddy footprint we'd be rich lol).
Look forward to hopefully seeing you again now the weather is getting better.
