Liked the facilities but it was not suitable place for walking around and also too remote with the kids. There was nothing much to occupy the kids with.

Compost toilet really put me off, i drank less so i dnt have to use it. The smell was awfully strong.

What a brilliant escape from the 9-5! We stayed midweek: Mon - Thurs, enjoyed the best of the Lake District weather and had three consecutive dry days. The site is superb; spacious, clean and all of the staff amazingly friendly and helpful. The on-site produce is excellent quality and the fact that each pitch comes with a bench and firepit is outstanding.
Brilliant value for money, lovely co-campers who make the trip great and what a fab way to start the summer holidays.
Temon Farm (about 30 mins away) is well worth a visit for the milk vending machine and milkshakes. Keep the bottles and visit daily for fresh top-ups and you'll be a hero for the kids!

Only dislike was that we would have loved a few designated fishing pegs each side of the fishing pond to help space out the growing number of eager kids wanting to catch a fish!

Beautiful surroundings. Fantastic facilities including hot showers. The kids enjoyed the milkshakes and ice-cream!

Peaceful and serene site with the river adding a special touch. Fiona was a great host and very friendly and she provided us with some great recommendations. Kirkoswald had two lovely pubs which was about 10 mins drive away. The showers on the site were surprisingly hot and powerful!

Didn't love the walk up to the cow shed for a flushing loo but that was just personal preference about compost loos. The showers were great though!

Nice site with multiple levels. Lovely pond and good facilities. Nice shed to warm up, get dry or just have some fun with the available playing stuff and games.

Very nice place with near small river. Every pitch have a very nice barbecue place. Clean outdoor toilets and shower’s. For kids playing room with table games ant table tennis. Small table billiard.
Very nice and helpful staff. I recommended for my friends and come back again. Cheers

The campsite was lovely, it was my partner and baby’s first time camping and the facilities were great! Unfortunately it got a bit windy, all part of the camping experience, but the baby got a bit scared so we had to leave a bit earlier than expected. Tom was great and even helped with a longer extension for our electric hook up, would definitely recommend and we will 100% return. Overall great site!
