Definitely recommend staying. We have been going to kuggar for many years but we've always gone to sea acers just round the corner. as they were getting very expensive and busy we thought we'd try chy carne. Its not got the club so doesn't have the noise and no pool but who needs it ? there's the beach ten mins walk or a few mins drive away. there's a park for thew kids to play on ,and the caravans are spaced out nicely so you can sit out and be out of the way. The wifi isn't the best but so what ? i go away to get away , no wifi for 2 weeks is fine with me , why have your head in your phone when you can take in the wonderful scenery Both my wife and myself and the kids dont want to go back to sea acers anymore, its going to be chy carne from now on. see you next year guys and thanks for a lovely holiday不喜欢： nothing

The staff were very friendly, the facilities were good, nice little park which congregated all the kids together which made it easy for our children to make friends. Our camping spot was really good and the nearby beach is absolutely wonderful. Staff are friendly and helpful.
不喜欢： It is very expensive for what it is! Very overpriced and the cost of hiring logs was ridiculous for over £30 for a burner and two bags of ashy softwood which burned too quickly. We couldn't even hire one for the first night and they don't have enough to meet demand, which I didn't end up minding as I wouldn't have paid over £50 for two nights of campfire.
Also, why the need for so many toilet cleans. We love that you are mindful of keeping the clean, but it seemed to be every hour and we couldn't get access to the toilet as it was being cleaned with the other toilet a little walk away.

Unfortunately Chycarne attracts VAT unlike many smaller campsites but Chycarne is more than just a field, and is very much a seasonal business, closed from the end of September and then reopens May of the following year. As you can appreciate not too many people camp in the winter for good reason and this makes it unviable to open in the winter months
We like many commercial businesses have seen exceptional increases in our operating costs including eye watering increases to our electricity supply one of many increases we have seen since Covid in 2021
At Chycarne we do allow the use of campfires/ fire pits
We have seen an increase of 95% wholesale for our logs from our suppliers in the past year. All logs have to be kiln dried and are required to meet specific regulatory guidelines.
We generally have up to 30 fire pits available to hire but visitors are welcomed to bring their own as well as burn their own logs. The actual cost for the hire of a fire pit is £4 plus VAT per night and logs are £9.20 plus VAT per bag
As the logs are kiln dried they do tend to burn a little big quicker but produce far less smoke and tend not to spit.
We appreciate your comments regarding the cleaning of the toilets and showers but this is necessary. The facilities are cleaned three times a day/evening. At Chycarne we have three sets of showers and toilet blocks all within a 2 minute walk from each other. The blocks are closed in rotation so two blocks remain open at any time It is important not just to clean the facilities but to equally sterilise them for obvious reasons.

To clear up when you select a pitch at Chycarne all pitches have electric hook up available but the electric is optional
and must be selected as an extra to be included in the booking. As you did not select the electric hook up option your booking would be a non electric booking. When you arrived on site you would have been asked if you required electric and in this case your answer was yes this is why a charge was made for the electric. Unfortunately electric today is not cheap and we have seen a increase of over 300% to our electricity tariff since 2022

Initially unsure about paying for showers but soon realised this is actually a great idea…there was never a queue and the toilets and showers were regularly cleaned. The showers were warm and powerful too and at 50p for 5 minutes, not a bad price at all.
Lovely walks directly from the site and the beautiful Kennack Sands just a 10 minutes walk. Also close to other attractions such as Flambards and the Seal Sanctuary, both of which my 6 year old loved.不喜欢： Only slight downside was that we were not too close to the park, I would request that next time

Your point regarding not enough recycling points
The way in which it works with our waste contractors "Biffa" is that all discarded waste is processed at their recycling plant in Redruth. Glass, plastics, cardboard etc are taken from the waste by them, this is why we do not require recycling bins, but all waste will be recycled and the remaining is then burnt to create electricity for the local area.
