While holing up in the countryside, it’s only natural that one might every now and then fancy sipping on a pint down at the local village pub. If you’re partial to such pursuits, it's handy that a good inn down the road from Moss Hagg Farm Campsite serves real ales alongside a menu of pub food.

As well being close to the local pub and a simple drive to historic Yorkshire hotspots like Bolton Abbey, Carlton Towers, Nostell Priory, Harewood House and Castle Howard, access to York’s handsome historic core and the Yorkshire Dales is easy from here too. The award-winning beaches at Hornsea, Withernsea and Scarborough are an hour and 15 minutes' drive away.

Moss Hagg is a small and friendly farm site three miles from the North Yorkshire town of Selby and its shops, inns, medieval abbey and 15th-century gatehouse. If you’re more of a wildlife-watching sort, you may like to note that the forested area from which the farm takes its name is a nature haven, and is also a pretty spot for a shaded stroll or a woodland bike ride.

The pitches look out across open country fields, and facilities on site include drinking water taps, showers and toilets. Firepits are available: only wood purchased on site to be used in these, please.

喜欢：	Moss Hagg was a little slice of natures heaven, surrounded by a diverse selection of trees and shrubs, it attracted several species of bird and other wildlife, which was a beautifully calm way to awake in the morning with bird song, the trees also provided shade at various points from the extreme heat wave that coincided with our holiday.

喜欢：	Beautiful field, plenty of space. Relaxed atmosphere. Immaculately maintained. Loved being able to hire a fire pit. Owners were friendly and location good.
不喜欢：	Road was noisy at night and farmer in field next door was driving around till 10. Wasn’t a problem for us but imagine wouldn’t have been great if we’d had young kids with us. Would have been good to have the option of an electric pitch for tents as well as caravans - especially if staying longer than a weekend.

喜欢：	The Pitches has freshly cut neat grass and very flat perfect for tents. Situated in a peaceful place with grass verges to seperate other campers which was a bonus for everyone making it more private :) the man who ran the campsite was also very pleasant and friendly - not too sure on his name!
不喜欢：	The Lady who ran the campsite was quite abrupt and rude when we turned up - talking to us like we were 14 baring in mine we are early twenties (2 couples) i thought was very patronising. Also there is some noise from a main road next to the campsite.

喜欢：	Very quiet because nobody dared breathe because you was watched like a hawk by the owner.
不喜欢：	When we arrived the lady was very abrupt and not very welcoming, When leaving we was filling our motorhome up with water the owner asked us if we had a big tank, because she didn't want is using a lot of water I'm sure this is what we paid are pitch fees for. And on our next night travelling we could not use the water because it tasted like chlorine.

We always greet our guests in a professional manner.
We try and take a walk round a couple of times a day to make sure everyone is happy and there are no issues that need attention, I do not think this is unreasonable. We do not watch like a hawk.
We are more than OK for camper vans to top up their tanks.
If you have concerns with our water please take it up with Yorkshire Water as we are on the same water main as Selby.

Settled on the outskirts of Selby, the farm is just about equidistant between the Yorkshire cities of Leeds and York, both of which have their own vibe. For history, handsome architecture and a bygone feel, head to York; for shopping centres, nightlife and street food cuisine, speed to lovely Leeds.

Out of the urban centres, Moss Hagg Farm Campsite is also well placed for day trips to the Yorkshire coast and its award-winning beaches at Hornsea, Withernsea and Scarborough. A little closer to home inland, the Yorkshire Dales are a cinch to reach too.

If you’ve got kids in tow, attractions like York Dungeon, the National Railway Museum and Chocolate Story in York should keep them (and you) more than amused; if instead you’re heading into Leeds, the meerkats, butterfly house and reptile enclosures at Tropical World are sure to be smash hits.
