Amazing views and fantastic facilities! We woke up with a view of Blencathra!

Nothing!!

I love the space in the Kipper Cabin. The king sized bed is so comfortable, the decking, outside chairs and picnic table perfect for eating outside. There’s a real sense of being away from it all due to the woodland location but you’re only a few minutes walk from good warm showers.
It’s lovely to spend a day or two walking but returning each night to the ‘get away from it all’ relaxing Kipper Cabin.
It was lovely to watch the birds on the bird feeder and the owl at night.
No Wi-Fi or television in the cabin so take a good book or some games to play with a friend.

The cabin was a bit cold as a window was missing and the gap taped over.
My dog was spooked by the peacocks on site. There was a bit of early morning noise from the peacocks.

The facilities were clean and modern, the welcome from the reception was friendly. The playpark was excellent for younger children

Stayed in a pod, lovely and cosy with underfloor heating. Incredible views of Blencathra and surrounding hills. Showers hot and powerful. Lovely site.

Couldn't get a firepit at the time we checked in as it was later on and we didn't realise but scraping the barrel for anything we didn't like as the site is so so good!

The fact it was a quick 1 night stay

Quality campsite everyone was respectful, me and my mate had a lovely stay

I would just recommend bringing a car the bus stops a 20 min walk and it was often late the campsite was great though.

Reception was warm and friendly. Gave great directions on local walks. Campsite was clean and had great facilities

Gill head farm was beautiful and was such a great place to stay. Staff were so friendly and helpful as soon as we arrived. They even let me and my family (with a noisy 1 year old) go into the barn and see the lambs that had just been born. They answered every question we had and really took the time to talk to you. Flawless. We had our choice of pitches as it wasn’t too busy with it being early in the year. Everything was spot on from the park to the facilities and everything else in between. They even have a common room with a kettle, toaster, tv and lots of seating. The view from the rear field is amazing aswell.

Ground was quite wet but the weather can’t be controlled.

Well run site, clean toilets, fantastic pitch and manager was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
