Absolutely loved this site, it was in a lovely setting and a great location to access Pooley Bridge, Ullswater and the remainder of the lake district if you are wanting to travel. It had a great play area for kids and a well kept communal area as well as toilet and shower facilities. I would highly recommend this site and we will definitely be back again.

Lovely site with good facilities and a family friendly atmosphere. Good pub with great food within walking distance. Good location for exploring the north Lakes area. Easy to get to the site from the M6. Plenty of room to walk the dogs including access to the river for a swim.

The hard standing caravan pitch we were on was a bit small and required levelling blocks but others were better. The views from the camping fields were great but no view from the caravan pitches, all shrouded by trees. Some road noise - not disruptive but didn’t feel like you were completely away from it all.

First time camping and it’s was definitely an experience that we enjoyed, the site was amazing had amazing facilities around the site and lots of things for the kids to enjoy, views of the mountains around the site was amazing, not a bad word to say. Definitely will be back.

there was no hot water in the dishwashing area (probably got all used up due to the amount of campers)

The spacing of the pods, the views, the clean toilet block, the handy communal area and sinks right near to a play area, the modern camping pods themselves and the immersive nature 🤩 we loved having a fire pit too and that there were clear recycling options x

There was nothing to not like, everything was perfect, the views, the amenities, shower blocks, toilets all clean the host will do anything for you nothing is a problem. Will definitely be here again.

2nd visit to gill head farm amazing place to stay. Can’t wait to re-book for next year already. Close by to Penrith and Keswick

Campsite is very well looked after
Nice and spacious
Clean toilets and showers
Alpaca farm up the road is cute
Beautiful mountain views

Shop is only open short periods of time although there is a doorbell for needed.
We got a camp fire for £20 yet on the second night we couldn't pursue wood.
The fire kept the midges away at night.
For some reason we had alot flies in our tent.
