To my surprise, I was the first camper at the fisheries since they opened a new section.
It all looks very promising. I was impressed by the outdoor gas kitchen and a giant fire pit with wood stumps around.(I did not use it but can see how great it would be to come as a group). A compost toilet already on site, sauna in a process of being built, plans for off grid shower (which would be great especially for multi days camping although toilet is big enough for a strip wash if needed). No music allowed due to fishing (a plus for me).
Please do not expect a perfect grass pitch, it is more of a woodland ground but it adds its own charm to the experience. A great opportunity to have a go at wild camping without the stress of being in remote location on your own.
It is close to train tracks so be prepared for some occasional noise (it made me jump first time as I did not realise). Other than that, all you can hear are birds chirping so very calming and relaxing.
Very friendly staff! They made sure I was ok in the morning by coming for a short chat. Minor, the dog is also very friendly and came to play which was fun.
