Easy to pitch up, clean facilities and friendly owners

I had stayed on a Tuesday night and loved it (see other review) so booked in again for the Friday night. I arrived in the afternoon (4ish?) and already the weekenders were arriving and it was a lot busier than just 3 days previously. Neither myself nor the doggo were feeling great and so had come back here as a known quantity for the peace and tranquillity. Alas as we arrived there were already a collection of groups. One set of tents forming a circle. Another must have been two or three sets of families. Then at the far end of the field was a large tent and gazebo with a number (4-5?) friends having a great time. I could already hear them/their music. While I don’t begrudge anyone letting their hair down at the weekend as a solo traveller this isn’t what I wanted. Plus as feeling ill I decided to have a kip for two hours and then hit the road home. I don’t know whether these groups would have been noisy however I didn’t want to chance it and potentially spoil the lovely experience I’d had a few days before.

Groups of campers

Everything! It’s basically a field in the most spectacular location with nice portable loo (three loo cubicles with sinks - separate male and female). There’s also porta-showers. There’s water taps for drinking water. There’s also a washing up sink. And that’s it! It’s perfect in my opinion. you’ll need a good torch to find the loos safely in the dark. No in person reception, they come around each early evening to people check in and to clean facilities. Check website for their rules on bbq and fires. Sheep in next field. Perfect morning view.

We love the location of the campsite, fairly quiet and great 360 deg views. The facilities were as are expected and were clean.

We did not like the noisy groups who were loud into the night and early hours.
One group of 9 men were very noisy and another group of 5 loved to keep a big (off the ground fire) going well into the night smoking out our tents. As with most sites groups can put you off going back.
The showers were very very powerful (soaking everything instantly) and lasted 2-3 seconds on a push button mechanism. This took some mastering.

Place was grate lovely views rolling fields nice toilets

Showers were small and no one ti greet didn't know where to park feltvlike I could have rocked up without paying and no one would have known

Fantastic location. Toilets and showers were excellent and had plenty of space for 5 of us. Will definitely return!

Really nice campsite - beautiful setting and friendly people. A few fields so plenty of room for campers! We stayed in a field that had sheep and horses opposite, it was lovely! Toilets were really clean, and showers were pretty good too. Has taps for water and a washing up area by the entrance for your dishes. Nearby there's farm animals like cows, sheep, goats, llama's and horses to look at which was sweet. We mostly camped here for the walks, which were mostly about a 10-30 minute drive away! Really good location.

It can be a little bit unclear what counts as a pitch - most people tend to park their cars next to their tents which is what we did - but after we came back from a day out, a campervan had parked where our car had been, so it was inches from our tent and we also had to park the car elsewhere which was a bit annoying. Everyone generally seemed to be keeping to their pitches though so I think we were just a bit unlucky. It wasn't really an issue since it was our last night, but it was a little annoying.

Great location, well kept site and the owners were very approachable and helpful.
toilets and shower units very good and well looked after.

not really a dislike but the gravel entrance way although good for vehicles was not great for pushbikes - will be better when it beds in a little
