-large, mostly flat pitches with lots of open space, beautiful trees, lots of wildlife
-no bother from other campers, we had an area all to ourselves
-really reasonable pitch prices
-activities were a great bonus and also reasonably priced
-having a shop, cafe and bar on site was great
-water points, showers and toilets were not too far away by our standards
-great location - not far from a local town and transport links
-fire pits off the ground were allowed and could be obtained on a first served basis free on site
-dog friendly
-felt safe, great for families and children
-felt like 'proper' camping (we don't use electric and go for the exposure to nature)
-excellent phone signal where we were. The site is vast though, so I imagine some parts are not as good
-overall positives far outweigh the negatives - I will definitely be returning.

-shop didn't really sell useful things for campers - no chilled or fresh food, only ambient stuff, which most campers already have. No firewood to buy for fire pits. Not much 'back up' kit like stove gas, tarps, waterproof clothing etc.
-shower blocks were run down and dirty. Not a problem for us as it felt like it was priced accordingly.
-the pool and cafe open in the afternoon only, which was a pain if you woke up at the crack of dawn with the kids and wanted something to do.
-swimming queues were bonkers. It was a hot day, but only allowed 20 in at a time but many spectators were included in those numbers in error so we waited an hour in the hot sun (no shelter, no seats and kids were in their swimmers) only to find that there were just 6 swimmers in the pool in the slot ahead of us. Huge troops of scouts queue jumped ahead of us, saving spots for friends, which added to the problem. The pool is very cold (not an issue), so 20 minute slots would have been sufficient and would have helped churn the numbers of eager swimmers. Large groups like scouts should be able to book private slots out of hours instead - so they could have monopoly of the morning whilst regular campers and general public could have afternoon slots, at least on busy, hot days.
- not much to do with younger kids as activities were mostly for older kids. Equally the adults couldn't or likely wouldn't do a lot of the activities and so we paid for wrist bands but in some cases didn't get to actually participate. I was told a play park for little ones was under a planning application so this will likely improve for the younger folk at least.
-it was difficult to find some activities. The lake is definitely more than a 15 minute walk and is not well sign-posted. Some members of our group got lost looking for it and never actually made it there.

Good location.

Activities could be improved. The tent allocation could be avoiding the way full of dust, more services and toilets could be better.

Liked the fact it had a bar and lots to do.

Great location, very clean site. Loads of activities for everyone to enjoy. Doggies allowed everywhere

Shop could be a little more equipped with camping equipment and other bits.

Activities accessible on site, good sized pitches, beautiful surroundings, close to other tourist sites/walks

Toilets we not the best, dirty toilets, no toilet paper, left underwear in the showers.

Also the distance from some of the top fields to a Toilet block, having young children who can't hold it like adults we resorted to using a bottle.

For younger children that cannot go on any of the activities a play park would also be good to keep them entertained while older siblings are occupied

The area we was in was lovely and quiet. And lots to explore.
