Setting, facilities, extremely helpful and polite wardens. Very well maintained site. Dealt with an issue that arose late in the evening extremely professionaly and swiftly.

Well run site, good toilet & shower blocks. Friendly, helpful host's. Well stocked shop with lovely local produce. Delicious lamb & mint sausages. Our Grandsons enjoyed mixing with other children playing football. Lots of literature of places to visit.

Beautiful setting and site. The best facilities I've seen, super modern and clean. Gorgeous hot showers, washing facilities and utilities. Amazing staff. Can see all of the stars on a clear night. Quiet and serene. Just perfect!

Very friendly staff who will go out of their way to help. Very neat and tidy site. Showers and toilets modern and clean. A mix of tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Ehu and water at hardstanding pitch, Free WiFi, toilet and grey waste disposal. Beautiful area and views. A lovely place to stay.

This was our very first outing in our motorhome, so complete novices. Having read there is a shop on site and pub within walking distance, we made the mistake of only taking a few basic food items. The shop mostly sells frozen burgers, sausages and steak. Along with crisps, ice cream and chocolate, drinks. They don't sell bread, butter, cheese, milk, soups etc. We didn't think this would be a problem as we would walk to the pub for food. However, the roads are narrow and winding with no pavements and just narrow grass verges. It didn't feel safe walking along the road so we turned back and had beans on toast for our first evening meal, which were the basics I had packed just in case. On our second day we attempted the walk again but this time we followed the footpaths over fields. It wasn't a bad walk but a little difficult getting our old dog over the stiles. There were also sheep in one of the fields, which we really didn't want to walk through with the dog. Especially as they were gathered around the gate. My husband found an app on his phone that showed an alternate route, which unfortunately took us along another narrow, less winding road. Fortunately it wasn't as busy. We arrived at the pub in time for lunch and had an adequate but not great meal. I ordered the spinach and chickpea curry. It was ok but just tasted of tomato, I think someone forgot to add the curry. My husband had steak pie, mash and veg. He said it was nice but not a very big portion. Once finished we walked further into the village of Hulme End. We discovered a cafe and cycle hire shop. Although we didn't go in the cafe it looked lovely. If we had realised it was there we would have eaten there instead. On returning to site we purchased frozen sausages for my husband to have later in the day. They were a solid block so I defrosted them in a bowl of water. I'm vegetarian so there was nothing for me in the shop. I had toast using the last of the bread I had brought with us. We would definitely return to the site, but we'd make sure we took more food with us next time.
