Superb location, beautiful pub and amazing landscape.

Nothing not to like

Loved the campsite, owner was so friendly and helpful. The location was perfect and the facilities pristine! Made winter camping so enjoyable. Would definitely come back!

Couldn’t walk to many other routes other than Tissington trail. Wouldn’t matter if had access to car but as we have a rooftop tent wasn’t as easy to access other routes in peaks!

What a lovely friendly welcome I received. Recent heavy rain meant the grass pitch was quite water logged, and Adam was really helpful in sorting me out on some gravel whilst still linking to the lecky.
There's easy access from the site for some lovely walks. The pub on site serves breakfast if you don't want to cook. It was such a treat having the real fires. They've also converted one room into a sports lounge with excellent coverage of key events.
There are also a couple of other pubs within walking distance in the area.
The new shower block is really modern with hot powerful showers. There are loos there, and also at the front of the pub for after hours.
On the Sunday the weather was lovely, which invited the bikers out zooming along the adjacent A road, but at night I didn't hear anything.
The site is next to a donkey sanctuary too, which is a treat to watch them grazing happily.

Toilet, showers and campsite were very clean.

Wifi was poor, couldn't get it on the campsite unless we were in the pub.

Nice quiet site with good onsite facilities. Showers and toilets were regularly cleaned and a member of staff greeted you each morning to make sure everything was OK.

Having the pub onsite was great and the food was lovely. A god send with the weather being rubbish.

We walked over field opposite to pick up the Tissington trail and visit the sister pub.

Not much to do for little children. There is a climbing frame but not ideal for younger children.
The site became very boggy due to the rain which can't be helped.
This site is higher priced than other sites we have been on with better facilities and in peak times.
WiFi wasn't great.

Quite a late booking to try out a new tent purchase. Arrived at check in time, checked in and located our pitch. Pitch was spacious, decent ground and space for car near tent. Nice campsite, not too many pitches, good facilities with a little shop and obviously the pub serving nice drinks, good food with friendly staff. Entry was into the lovely old pub with cosy open fires burning it you could make your way through to a more modern room with plenty of TVs for watching sport and its own pizzeria. We sampled a burger each on our first night and they were gorgeous, and a pizza each on our second night also equally delicious. Checkout was a generous 11am which gave us ample time to eat breakfast and shower before loading the car and leaving. During our stay we tripped off to Buxton, Eyam and Bakewell. Not to mention the walks available to you. We walked to another nearby pub which took about 15mins. We stayed on the main road but believe there is a path that takes you there too.

My only problem was with accessing the WiFi on the odd time I wanted to. However I didn’t let this ruin my stay as I was there for the location and the break from such things.

Everything was perfect. The site is in a beautiful location looking out over the beautiful countryside. We LOVE donkeys and found this site was next to a donkey sanctuary. Very good sized pitches and very good sized site so the toilets and showers / washing facilities were always available instead of waiting like I have on some bigger sites. The pub serves good food and a brill selection of beers. We’re from Nottingham so the rock city IPA on draught went down a treat! Food was also amazing and staff in the pub were very accommodating as we were a group of 10 with 2 dogs. All food served at the same time which is amazing. Every morning site staff came to check we had a good night and he was so friendly. Felt very comfortable here and would 100% visit again.
