Basic camping, reminiscent of wild camping without the mega early rise to clear off. Portaloos on site and a tap for water. We were the only people there which was lovely. Loads of parking close to the tent. Good value for money. The night sky was amazing from here!

By a busy road so traffic sounds are constant.

Basic campsite but suited our needs hiking to Windermere. A conveniently located place to sleep very close to the bottom of the lake. We had a lovely meal at the Huntsman (pub in Newby Hotel) down the road. Opened tent up to lovely view of hills. Just a field with portaloos and drinking water but we pretty much enjoyed the place to ourselves. Only stay here if you're happy with the minimum.

Slight noise from a 50mph road next to site but not too bad

Basic and simple, but everything we needed. Portaloos were clean and well stocked, field wasn't muddy, parking and pitches were clear. Rain meant we spent less time on site and headed to the pub, but the field was absolutely grand for what we wanted. Easy to find, easy check-in, very good!
