Quiet site with lots of space. Campsite within 5 minutes drive of alton towers and lively host Lorraine. Arranged nice firepit and good clean facilities

The site was very well presented as well as lovely and clean. A lovely touch was the ability to book a fire pit, we didn't on this occasion as we were only staying one night. We liked the family and adult camping area's being separate. Lorraine was helpful and friendly, I really liked the map of the local area that we were given, another lovely touch.

The was nothing to dislike about this camp site!

Quite a basic site in a field but with lovey views, very peaceful and nice toilet facilities. It was a very wet weekend so the warm toilets and shower facilities were very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There isn’t much within walking distance and no shop so will need to make sure you have everything. We used mums taxis to get to Dovedale for a walk up Thorpe cloud which cost us £20 - a bit more than expected but we didn’t factor in that we were in the countryside! We will be returning!

As the site is located next to a quarry can get quite noisy occasionally.

Convoy of tractors in next field that started arriving at 5am unloading mounds of soil which continued all morning

Site was great! Facilities were clean and host was welcoming. Stayed 1 night only as visiting Alton Towers and would definitely stay again if doing multiple days at Alton Towers again. Field was nice and level (very gradual slope) and ground firm despite all the rain we seem to have had this summer

Beautiful scenery, rolling hills on all four sides of the site. As we arrived it was clearly signed so we new exactly where to go in our camper. We parked next to a four seater picnic table (one of many around the site) our chosen spot was flat and the grass had been freshly cut. We were greeted at reception by a lovely lady who seemed absolutely delighted to see us. The sites facilities were explained and a map was handed over with local things to see and visit highlighted. The central shower and toilet block was the best I have seen at any recent campsite with plenty of sinks all with liquid soap and really hot water. A air hand dryer was also very effective rather than a like warm breeze that is normally found. A pleasant change was also the 24hrs a day smooth fm playing in the shower room, only a small detail but really welcome in the middle of the night or when your having a shower early in the morning. I showered at 6.30am and the showers were lovely and hot with plenty of pressure. The shower stalls were around 4ft wide and maybe 8 feet long so loads of space. A rubber mat on the floor made it slip resistant and the 3 hooks plus basket were perfectly adequate for all my clothes and supplies. Next door to the toilet and sheer block were a men’s urinal and also a dish washing sink with hot water. Every field was manicured and looked lovely, the hard standing electric Motorhome pitches looked really nice, clean and flat. The site is broken into different areas for families in tents with or without hook up. Really big pitches all nice and flat. A few football nets were set up but not too close to tents so fun could be had without the stress of a ball hitting your car. Some people had hired fire pits with logs, these were £10 each and were available until 8pm.
Overall our stay was exceptionally good without a single complaint.
And for the most unique pub visit you will ever make take a walk 1.5 miles to the local The Yew Tree inn at Cauldon. Google it and look at images, friendly wonderful place with an unbeatable atmosphere.
