This camp site is in a fabulous location just slightly up from Winnats Pass Castleton and perfect hiking distance for Mam Tor.

It was two large fields on a working farm which we managed to pitch my camper van and awning on a nice flat area.

It was a very peaceful site with no traffic noise whatsoever and large enough to be a distance from other campers that wanted to stay up late.

It had fabulous views around the area and really great distance from Castleton where there are lots of cafe's, bars, shops.

The toilets and washing up areas were always kept clean and are a short walk from the field by the farm buildings. It also had a good van on site selling baked potatoes but it was not open every day.

Both myself and my friend found it awkward to get into the site safely when there was busy traffic on the main road that you enter it off as by the time that you see the entrance gate, it was not possible to pull over safely at it in the traffic as you then needed to get out and open the gate, drive in and then close it again. Easier if you had someone else in the vehicle with you to do this or if the gate was set back to enable you to pull in safely off the main road to do this.
I personally didn't use the showers but my two year old godson needed one and these were £1 for three minutes.
No one can control the weather but there were lots of spinning wheels from everyone when getting into the field whilst raining and quite a few larger vehicles needed pushing.

Really great site at an amazing location. 30minute walk into Castletown and just over an hour’s walk to the top of mam tor. Anyone we met from owners/staff to fellow campers were lovely. Showers and toilets were always clean! The pitches were level and perfectly spaced.

Great location for walking in the peaks and exploring Castleton and Hope, basic site with simple but clean facilities. Good directions to the site and large area where you are able to pick your own pitches.

Getting to the site off the road is challenging when the gate needs closing for livestock. Faculties are limited compared to the size of the campsite, especially number of showers and the field gets very churned up in bad weather

Good facilities very well maintained, availability of fire pits which looked great wish we got one! Everyone spoken to was helpful, will be staying here again on return to the peaks

Lovely working Hill farm, basic but clean amenities everything you need to get away from modern life. Fantastic location at the top of Winnats pass walking distance from mam Tor 10 minute drive to Kinder Scout absolutely loved. It will definitely return hot potato van and home-made pizzas available Saturday and Sunday, which is a bonus cannot fault at all.

Level campsite with great views, plenty of space, clean toilets with proper hot water and showers. Easy reach of Castleton in vehicle, or invigorating walk. Great place to hang out with friends.
