We stayed for one night at the site, deffo would come back for longer. Site was in such a beautiful setting and very peaceful.

Lots of good walks (we did the castle route and back round the top of Winnats Pass into Castleton) and within walking distance to Castleton which is such a lovely little village with lots of options for food/drink and shopping.

The views are excellent and it's great for access to great walking.

The prices are lower than many other camp sites which was very welcome.

Bathroom facilities are run down and basic. The field was completely waterlogged and muddy with car tracks running across the field in all directions. We couldn't park our motorhome on the field as we were worried that we wouldn't get out. We had to park it in small area on the driveway (it was good of the owner to let us park it here). The tent has come home completely muddy.

I imagine that summer camping is a completely different story.

The campsite had good facilities which were clean. The campsite is in a great position for exploring the peak district, especially for mam tour!

There was a large field to fit a lot of campers/tents. I was there for an event in Castleton and the farm was the start and end point.

It has a basic set up, a cleaning area with two sinks and fridge freezer. One shower for the women and one for the men. There are two toilet cubicles for the women and I guess the same for the men. There was also a jacket potato food stall on site but I'm not sure if that opened just for the event or if it's usually open when people are there. There is a fresh water tap as well.

The views were brilliant and very close for some nice walks down into Castletown and over to Mam Tor etc. There are also some good mountain bike routes as well.

We stayed 6/7 Oct and unfortunately it had rained for a few days prior which meant it was a slight challenge to get onto the field to pitch up, and with the amount of people due that weekend it could have been worse, luckily the wind helped dry the field out a bit.

I imagine in the summer there would be a queue for the facilties when busy, but that's part and parcel of campsite holidays.

There's no hard standing pitches from what I could see, but there are plugs within the cleaning/toilet area if you need to dry your hair after a shower.

Facilities not great

The facility are clean and basics, just what you need for a one night stopover. Views would of been exceptional if the weather wasn’t against us. Access to all walking routes, blue John caverns and the delightful village of Castelton

Booked as was advertised suitable for camper vans, images looked like a flat field, however on arrival access to field all torn up, rugged and inaccessible, this site would be great but only in dry season.

When speaking to staff when booking it told of a herd standing area which was next to skip. Did not stay.

Not a dislike, but be weary in wet weather as it is simply a field and a couple of badly placed campervans struggled to get out!
