Great location regardless of the weather. Stayed 2 nights. Owner very friendly. Walked a circular 11 mile route over the Mam Tor ridge through Hope then along Peakshole Water and back up around the Broken Rd.

Really good location, lovely energy from the hosts, right in the heart of the farm…surrounded by lovely sheep and lambs. Generous amenities, toilets, kitchen area, shower. Logs to rent for fire.

Little to no signal :(

The ability to pitch up wherever we wanted in our designated area. the location of the campsite is not far from one of the main peaks, speedwell cavern and is about a 7 minute drive from Castleton. The campsite is on a working farm so it was cool to see all the sheep and cows every day. The owners were pleasant but we didn’t see them much after check in, but we like to keep ourselves to ourselves so served us perfectly

There was a lot of families with children there, which was to be expected as it is family friendly. However, there are only 2 female toilets on the site and I spent most the time trying to navigate around children to get to the toilet or in the facilities to wash my hands or waiting in a queue to access one of these. My partner said this didn’t really seem to happen in the mens so it only seemed to affect the women's facilities, with mum’s taking children to the toilets in groups to brush their teeth and whatnot so you’d spend a couple of minutes in the queue to the toilet and then another 5 minutes trying to get into the wash facility to wash your hands. This was my only gripe really but obviously couldn’t be helped by the families, there just isn’t the facilities for the amount of people the pitches can hold. The mobile service was pretty poor most the time but again the campsite is on a farm in the middle of nowhere so to be expected, reception was a little better near the farm buildings but wouldn’t last too long.

Not overcrowded, lots of space for plenty of people to camp. Good facilities for a short stay.

Fantastic location

Not enough facilities for number of campers!
In one field about 20 all tents and campers. In the second field there were over 30 family tents - with families. There are 2 ladies toilets and 1 shower! I believe it’s the same for the men.
When booking this site, I was after a base to enjoy the quiet landscape of the Peak District, but the noise from the family field went on later than 10pm and started early!

Had to wait 30 mins in the rain to check in, along with some other people also waiting. A sheltered area if having to wait would be good. It says to sort things out in the morning if no-one is around, but I didn't want to risk it as I had to leave early and didn't want a penalty fee.
There was no toilet roll at 0700h.
Feels quite expensive for what it was.
