Loved the views, serenity, peaceful nature of cows mooing, and being surrounded by fields. Sun all day on the field, and great for moon-bathing too. Perfect location for walking up Mam Tor just have to cross the road and you’re there! Great loop to go down the other end and back to campsite through Castleton and up Winnats pass. Well worth a stay to tick off this area from your list.

Toilet and showers very basic in farmhouse building, price reflects this. But has everything you need and doesn’t bother us anyway!

Lovely site in a great location right next to Mam tor. Clean toilets, wash up area and showers that are £1 for 3 minutes. Pull up, find a pitch, easy as that. Will be staying again very soon.

Really liked the toilets and warm water which is rare on a campsite. Lovely clean grass pitch, farm location at the top of Wynatts Pass, so we needed the car to get into town. But the drive down the pass is one of the the most beautiful scenic routes in the UK. So no problem and it had a farm shop on the site with supplies. Really enjoyed it and so did our little dog.

Screaming youths camped one night, but we was all younger once! So all ok 👍

The site was spacious & great location for climbing Mam Tor for sunrise as it’s only 20-30min walk away.

The campsite was excessively noisy at night and there were no measures in place to manage this. Some noise at night comes with camping like talkings, dogs barking, late arrivals setting up etc. but on this campsite a couple of groups of campers were playing loud music until 2am onwards.
I messaged one of the contacts on the booking confirmation at about midnight to ask if there was anything they could do and got no response (not even the next day so we had no confidence anything would improve). We ended up getting out of our tent and politely asked one of the groups to turn the music off at 1am as it was getting late and got a rude response back when we did.
We pretty much had a sleepless night due to the excessive noise so ended up leaving the next morning instead of staying for our full trip so it was an expensive stay for just 1 night.
Never been to a campsite where other campers have been so inconsiderate before!

Great location. Working farm. Can pitch anywhere and have fire pits.

Entrance - not signposted or space to park and open the gate so you have to stop on the main road.
Rude and hostile manager.
Poor toilet/shower facilities.

Booked a very last min 3 night stay at Rowter Farm last week of school holidays, booking was easy. Reasonable priced, great location for walks and beautiful views, across the road from Mam tor and winnats pass. Facilities were basic but ok. Loved the fact its unlimited pitch space as we had a big 8 man tent and an event shelter (paid extra for that) bbq's and fire pits to hire at £5 a night was lovely. Lovely people was either side of our tent so that was a bonus and had great weather too so will definitely be going back.

We had a lovely stay, however there was just a couple of things.
The postcode given takes you to completely wrong place from top of winnats pass it took us down the bottom of winnats pass and told us to turn left which takes you down a long road thats a dead end. It is simply at top of winnats pass but not very well explained only says rowter farm (could do with saying campsite too?) On arrival it says to book in straight away however this is a working farm so no one was around so just pitched up as I'd already paid online, eventually got hold of farmers wife she was a bit abrupt saying could only pitch in first field but then next day 2nd field was full! There is only 2 toilets and 1 shower (which isn't the greatest) mid week we didnt struggle for the toilets at all but by sat the queue for the ladies toilets was bad.

The site was located in excellent spot above Castleton and the Hope Valley. The site was very busy with a diverse range people of all ages, which was nice. A food van offered jacket potatoes (evenings) and bacon sandwiches (mornings) at a responsible price. Other small items like bread and milk sold at the farm house. Fire pits were aloud which others seemed to be enjoying, although I didn't participate myself (I wish I had). Cows and sheep in the surrounding fields which was nice for younger people. Very close to various location including Mam tor and local caves. Nice walk into town which suited some more than others due to the hills.

The facilities could have been a bit cleaner but I appreciate that I was staying on a working farm. Wifi would have been nice for others in my group but didn't bother me personally.
