Small site but plenty of space for each pitch to get in and out to manoeuvre. Clean showers blocks and toilets and close to nice little towns. Friendly staff

Not particularly a dislike but we had a super wet weekend and could have potentially needed help getting our caravan out (lots of wet grass, slipping tires and uneven pitches) was told it wasn’t down to them to help us if needed. Other sites have vehicles handy to help in case.

Loved the scenery of the holiday park, beautiful location, and very close to the Peak District! Me and my partner camped for 2 nights on an electric pitch, normally when we visit a campsite there are a few pitches that seem disadvantaged compared to others, however all the pitch locations here appeared to be more than suitable. The man behind reception (unfortunately didn't catch his name) was lovely and welcoming upon arrival, and was more than happy to answer any questions.

The toilets and shower block was always kept to a high standard, and very warm which was lovely when coming in from the cold outdoors! Modern and clean facilities, with bins and water refill stations spread throughout the area.

There are some very nice trails around the holiday park, we loved the woodland walk right next to it (come out of the park entrance, turn right and walk for a couple minutes and the entrance is there).

The only downside to this holiday park is the noise from the main road (cars driving by), however I understand this is something the holiday park can't control, so therefore I wouldn't class it as a negative. Me and my partner are heavy sleepers so didn't bother us at all:)

I really think the holiday park would benefit with an on-site cafe, as we found a lot of the pubs nearby didn't serve food or open until later on in the day. The old amenities building would make a great location for this, and would have a great view!

Lovely new shower block. Lovely warm water. Could do with a few extra hooks on inside of shower door or a curtain half way across as clean dry clothes were getting wet from the shower spray.
Pitch size was really good and nice open aspect.

On arrival and throughout our stay there was an horrendous smell of urine! I can only assume it was from multiple dogs peeing on the grass in the bottom corner of the site which is on route to the woods.
We have dogs ourselves however the stench was so bad that I was using a half empty spray bottle of fabric freshener which I sprayed on the grass to try and calm the smell. The smell may have dissipated slightly but not much. The smell was pure ammonia from urine.
We did pay £3 a night per dog. We are responsible dog owners and never leave a mess. I appreciate you can’t stop a dog from peeing where it wants but I think the site could potentially check round every so often and potentially spray the hard standings with disinfectant. We have had a lot of rain lately so I was surprised at the high level of smell.
Also, just above our pitch as you walk to reception there was another strong drain smell. I hope this review is considers as constructive criticism and not a complaint. I hope you can use this review to solve the smell problem.

The areas around the camp - needed a car

Toilets - female - were only cleaned once in a week that I noticed and on this day the chemical smell was overwhelming.
My husband was only there for a couple of days of the stay, he reported dirty toilets, shower had no bench, hooks etc and he had to hang clothes, towel etc over the door.
The village nearby was a bit rough
We asked if we could have a different pitch as we had a large caravan. We were given 5, the larger pitch was 7. We were told that a campervan was currently in the spot and had gone out for the day. The pitch was empty for the full week we were there. Hate being lied to!

Location, Cleanliness, Well Equipped, Hot Tub.

Nice little camping pod, nice tidy clean in a good location staff very friendly. It is what it is a very well equipped camping pod, the kids loved the hot tub and we took our dogs and the pod was fenced in so they could go outside without wandering off. We used it as a base to explore the area.

How clean the site was and the facilities

Was told I had to arrive by 7 or I quote “your not getting on” I replied with what if there is traffic to the response was “your not getting it, be here by 7 or you not getting on” I left work early for this reason, arrived at the site to find people still been accepted after 7. A young man was on the counter Friday evening and told us to go to the tent field, fault on both parties I didn’t realise how much it had rained where as the young lad would of, so going onto the field our cat got bogged down and became stuck. The next morning I asked Steve I believe who locked the door as seen me coming to the office and had to lean over fence to ask him if I could park my car in a space at top of the hill. His response was campsites full. Which I didn’t mind so had to empty the car of everything we May of needed that night and morning leaving my car at top of campsite. The next morning as I was going to my car the spot I asked for was still empty aswell as other spaces I then went and spoke to the man at reception Dave who was apologetic about how I’d been left to feel. Gorgeous site but the staff that I had dealt with was not one but helpful really let the site down not the best experience at all as a young couple I felt we was treat very wrong and could of nearly ruined our weekend. From arriving to not been helpful or sympathetic to our situation. Id suggest training or replacement of staff to better this experience.
