Mike the owner was very nice and very helpful. Nice large field with plenty of space... Washing machine drum firepits provided if required. Nice lakes to swim in if you want to at a charge and a nice walk into York which takes about one and a half hours

Very poor amenities a long walk away from the camping field. Could definitely do with a portaloo or 2 in the field. only one shower which is for the whole of the campsite and all the swimmers. which can get very busy depending on what time of day. and only one washing up sink. also nowhere provided for easy use of freezer blocks although they will freeze them in the cafe which is only open three days a week

The surroundings, the peace, the space and especially the swimming.

Beautiful quiet site with low pitch density, lovely lakes for swimming and plenty of parking. The cafe is great and the toilets and showers are clean. Loved that there are picnic tables and fire pits throughout the campsite, and wood to buy onsite. Stayed a couple of times and will be back!

This space on the site. Although it was fully booked, there was loads of space between each set of campers. Swimming in the lakes was also amazing! So tranquil and well maintained area.

The relaxed atmosphere, freedom and open space. The opportunity to swim SUP & sauna. The people are so friendly

I’m not used to camping without electric so I found that tricky.

Location, views, friendly people, lakes, cafe, toilets round the back, lakeside walks.

Just suggestions not dislikes really-

Toilets facing the car park- dark and floors were dirty.
That the toilet block was so far away from the campsite and the lakes.
That the changing barn had limited seats in the changing area- would benches give more seating?
The floors in the changing barn were bare concrete and straw- a big rug/carpet to help keep your feet cleaner and warmer when changing and maybe a little hose pipe to wash mud off your feet before going into the changing area to help keep the rugs/carpet cleaner.
