Beautiful woodland surroundings, loved how popular it was for wild swimming in the beautiful lakes, well maintained grounds.

How dirty the toilets/ shower rooms were. Over flowing bins, no hand wash or toilet roll at times, no light in one of the toilet rooms, obviously not cleared or checked requlary.
No where to put rubbish?

Wonderful choice of pitches within the Meadow, friendly staff, pleasant walk via shortcut to the toilet block. Nice walking in the local environment and a route around the local Heslington Tillmire SSSI area, or just ambling round the lakes on site.

The shower was a little temperamental with varying temperature but eventually settled once water pressure seemed to stabilise.

No group of young people on my second stay - much more peaceful!
Really enjoyed it as I had stayed before so I knew where everything was and what to expect.

I booked because I could swim in the pools, which was heavenly.

What a fabulous find this place is! Not far from North Leeds, so it was an easy drive for us.

As we arrived, the field was huge and spacious. I didn’t feel crammed at all, we were only staying one night so I can’t comment about what the rest of the weekend was like.

The place is simply stunning and very tranquil. As the campsite wasn’t rammed like most are on a bank holiday weekend, it was very peaceful. There is a slight sound of traffic from the a 19, but that is not a problem.

We booked Wild swimming tickets for my husband and son Because me and my daughter did not particularly fancy it that much. Oh how we wished we had brought our costumes to change into! The Sun is shining and everyone was happy and the conditions were just perfect. You cannot fault the lakes and how pretty they are. There is a very safe treatment to the water to suppress blue green algae and other growth in the water. You could tell that the environment was very friendly by the diversity of nature that there is there. A woman in the tent opposite exclaim to her husband, when she returned after very early morning, swim that she had seen multiple kingfishers

This place takes all the boxes. Good camping, good swimming, good peace and quiet, good space. We loved it. Definitely will be visiting again.

It was such a busy weekend and we lost track of time, swimming in the lakes. By the time we had got changed and we’re ready for some food. The café had closed which was a bit disappointing. Place is a little goldmine on a busy day especially a bank holiday weekend. We have been to Campsite before where the café is open till much later on, even does early evening food. I think they would be onto a winner if they stayed open later.

In time, I’m sure that the facilities may expand. The shower block and toilets were okay, but the dust from the car park just got everywhere! People driving a bit too fast, kicked up plumes of dust , this made the floor very muddy in the toilets.

We don’t mind the lack of electric hook up short-term. If you have a CPAP machine for the night time like my husband does either you would have to go without and let other people listen to the snoring, or perhaps find a different Campsite, because this might be a problem. maybe as the campsite involves they may think about putting in a small area of electric hook up for people who have extra needs. This is by no means of tracks from its appeal for us though and we would definitely visit again.

The setting: absolutely lovely level field with trees and lots of space; beautiful lakes & wild swimming. Great to have a cafe & covered area to congregate plus helpful staff. Proximity to York is an advantage too

Only one female loo (plus one male & one disabled) & one shower with rather uninviting washing-up facilities. The loo & washing-up block is rather a long way from the camping field, certainly too far to carry lots of plates & pans

Excellent site. York has so many sites aimed at the caravan crowd that Pool Bridge Farm stands out as something special. No electric hookups, just amazing grounds, wildlife and woodsmoke.

Peaceful, a short drive to the city, and also with wild swimming at small extra cost, a cafe open during the day, and great sunsets over the fields in the evening.

Although the toilet block is functional rather than luxurious, it is clean, well kept, and perfectly fine. Remember to take your swimming gear - even if you don't think you'd fancy it, once you see everyone enjoying themselves you will get envious.

Everything about my stay was brilliant , weather , tent pitch , amenities and mostly the staff who were very helpful and friendly , a great cafe open Wednesday to Sunday and food and service were excellent .
Same pond for fishing and 3 lakes for wild swimming ( if that's your thing ) can't recommend it enough , many thanks for my stay
